why didn't i buy stainless steel sooner
folks, it took me many years to distill this wisdom but here it goes:you must buy different pans for different reasons, period.1. non-stick pans are a must for eggs and pancakes. keep the temperature below medium and only use plastic spatulas. wash gently with soap and sponge. do not boil water in it.2. stainless steel. the secret super weapon. heats up quickly, sears quickly, distributes heat well, but will stick like crazy. you can and you will want to boil, sear, fry and cook anything in this pan. Even after meat has coated the bottom you can add water and soap and let it sit overnight. it will come right off.3. cast iron. if you want to cook thick meat and sear it nicely then this pan is for you. if you have seasoned the pan and are a pro at seasoning and cleaning then no sweat with this one. otherwise you will smell and maybe taste the iron. This particular pan was built well, looks great and cleans great. The stainless steel lid is a feature that's very hard to find but is a must. I do think 12 inches is bigger than the needs of most people. I wish I bought one size down.

12.5 inch and higher sides
Handle is very good. Great size. Got it for under $30.00 April 2024 on discount. It's 3 ply not 5 ply. It's not the quality of Demeyere, Sardel, Made In, Legend or Heritage Eater series. But for 3 ply it's heavy and large. Would make a great restaurant pan. Not a high end chef pan like the brands I listed above. Being a professional chef I own all the best. My advise pay more and buy 5 ply. ...3 ply the sides eventually burn that won't happen with 5 or 7 ply. This Banish is on the very high end of Chinese made 3 ply right up there with Merten Stauck, Cuisinart, Tramontina . It's not super high end but for home use at 12.5 inches wide its a fine pan with good grip. Excellent beater pan.

Works good and looks durable
It’s non stick.Did the water mercury test before oiling and frying the egg and It got stuck.I got it right the the second time and now I’m having fun with it.Im not expecting it to work like a wok cause it’s a little heavy but not that much. Before I’m done using it,I heat some water on the microwave and pour it on the pan with some soap after cooking, wait a little bit and clean with a non scratching sponge scrubber.Easy.This is my second Babish cookware and I like their cookware.I ll buy from them again.

Very Good SS Pan
The Pan came in perfect condition without blemishes. As my first fully clad SS pan it took a bit, and a lot of videos, to learn how to cook with it. Yes, initially I made a few messes but with cleaning videos and just boiling water and scraping like fond it cleaned up without much effort. After learning to let the pan come up to temp and add a bit of oil, cooking with this pan has been very predictable, easy to use, and easy to clean with no sticking at all. I'm a fan.

Great stainless steel
Has a great weight, not flimsy. I had seen others, but the reviews said they were lightweight. I decided to buy one after learning non -stick pans were toxic.

Had high hopes, but....
I had high hopes for this pan. Some what disappointed. The only really nice pan that I had was a cast iron with non-stick coating... Gift from a friend.I hate non-stick coating, as it's not safe. But it was a gift. The coating was starting to wear & everything was sticking to the bottom, so I decided to get a new pan and spent extra for quality. The pan is slightly wider than listed and the sides are less deep than my last pan so still getting used to lower sides. From the get go EVERYTHING sticks to the bottom. BADLY.Didn't think I'd have to work so hard to clean a non-burnt pan.I could see if I burnt stuff in tne pan, but yeah...Doesn't matter what I use (butter, oil, etc), it sticks.

chef's skillet
I got this pan only because Babish himself is a chef, so I believed that this pan should satisfy me as a chef. And I was not wrong. It is excellent. Very lightweight and easy to handle, it cooked everything we've asked it to cook perfectly. Highly recommended.

follow the instructions
This pan works like a dream if you follow the instructions. First pre-heat well, then use a little oil. If you do this it is non-stick and easy to clean.

Not so great
I got the 12 inch and I found that on a standard hob it does not conduct to the edges so well. Also it does not fit in a standard oven. Quality is ok but yea not that happy with it considering the price.
