Pirates of the Caribbean 1-4 Box Set [DVD]

We haven’t watched all the films yet but great so far! Value for money.

Very good present

I am in favour of exciting, dramatic and enchanting movies which contain a bit of magic.This one has humour, love, passion, drama and magic.You can see them over and over again and always feel that piece of excitement, like when one was young and attended an afternoon movie and had that glow in the eyes as the first seconds the film opened.Curse of the Black Pearl:It is both a fantastic and an eerie view to see the skeletons march on the bottom of the sea in the fullmoon light. The Flying Dutchman crew is actually "dead" and their tru condition is viewed in the fullmoon light.At World's End:Just imagine the idea of that earth is flat and you approach the verge of the world and fall down into the unknown with a huge ship. Then one would get the feeling some voyagers would have at this time. Great scenery!Oh, there's much more to say, but an adventurous soul wouldn't be disappointed buying and seeing this!I am a father of 4 children from 18 down to 2 years old.I would say these movies suit from 11 to 18 especially.For the older ones, you become like an youngster in this age range, so if you don't have this set, order it and splurge on the fantastic adventure that is awaiting you around the corner.Anders from Sweden

The 4-movie collection of Pirates came in a different packaging (instead of 5-disc single box it came i a carton box, each movie separately) which is OK by the way because if they release Pirates no. 5, you can just place it next to the 4 movies you already have instead of placing the single extra movie next to a big single-box collection. And the quality of the cases is very good (ELITE cases) - see my photos. A little disappointing is the fact that each disc looks different (not the cases or inlays, but the discs themselves).The quality of the movies is great - 1080p is really sharp. Naturally the newer the movie is, the better the quality (the Curse of the Black Pearl looks great in 1080p but On Stranger Tides looks even sharper, with less picture noise. All in all - great quality, great bonuses and great extra disc with bloopers and a documentary.For the low price the 4-disc Pirates collection is a very good deal.

this is a really good trilogy which fits well together, although i still have to wonder about the whole pirates of the caribbean thing because there is not one caribbean person in the entire trilogy, and that includes the extra movie which is a stand alone as the 4th pirates of the caribbean. apart from that this movie is a great one that will definately be staying in my home to be watched whenever i'm interested in watching a good movie. of all the movies i've watched i think this is where Johnny Depp really stands out as a good actor, i've seen him in other movies apart from this but he just doesn't have the same class and greatness in character as he showed in these movies. so i'd say these movies were made just for him because he shines in them far above anyone else.but back to the movies the trilogy is a good watch and the 4th movie is a good stand alone one which i really enjoyed as the storyline was completely different, however johnny had the same wittyness, and prowess shown in the previous 3.

The first 3 Pirates movies are terrific, but the fourth movie seems like a typical Hollywood attempt to keep milking a cash cow no matter how it affects the cow! My wife and I were looking forward very much to seeing Ian McShane as Blackbeard, however I felt his character was too one-dimensional - just plain evil, no internal conflicts, no moral dilemmas whatsoever. Davy Jones was a much more intriguing villain, and the other characters were always torn between doing what was right and doing what was expedient. Also, the fourth movie introduces so many new characters that it's hard to keep track of them all (the third movie had this problem somewhat as well).In any event, this set would be worth the price even if it contained only the first three. The discs play fine here in the USA, and this set is a much better deal than any of the box sets available on this side of the pond.

Did you know pirated of the Caribbean was mentioned in Jurassic Park? JP an awesome film, POTC an awesome Quadrilogy and for anyone who Suffers from Quadrilogitis will be cured. BluRay is the only way for, get to see a great adventure with maps, swords, gold, myths, legends, from the highest mountains to the lowest depths of the sea, action is everywhere, prison escapes ship battles, watch the undead walk the seabed and on land as each characters story is unfolded. Characters of old sing and dance, hear the best of tales from the worst of pirates. As jack sparrow once said in the first film " It's a good thing I'm not a fool then" and neither was I for buying this.
