Excellent value
Great product and really sturdy. I did take another reviewer's advice and changed out all the nuts and bolts for stainless steel hex bolts. Looks amazing now and that was only £4 for the fixings. All together: very impressed.

Good price but have some design failures
Good price but have some design failures. It is very easy to assembly, took about 20-30 min. Most people think there was no instruction which is not true. Instructions are printed on the last pages of the book. It has a small grate in the middle which makes it quite hard to have a good fire. I had lots of smoke each time I used this. Also the grate moves very very easy when you are mixing your charcoals. It completely went off once and lots of burning charcoals went down from the center. It was a disaster! There is a little ash catcher at the bottom which is always jammed. You can only move it when the item gets completely cold.If you can successfully fire your charcoals cooking it cooks really nice with different level options. Seems to be durable if you don't leave it outside under rain

Good for the price, could be amazing with a few production changes
Looks great, and went together easily. I replaced all the nuts bolts and washers with some marine-grade stainless bits off ebay after reading this tip in other reviews - I also recomments getting more washers than screws, maybe twice as many and using them on the screw heads and nuts as some of the holes in the seet metal are a bit bigger than they need to be and slotted. The only thing I would like is a rack to put the coals on rather than rest them on the bottom where some can get no airflow from underneath and nowhere for ash to fall. I will measure this BBQ and try and fine a roasting rack or similar or some steel mesh.Culd be a bit sturdier, but not too bad - the bottom of the pedestal has a flange lip on two of the four sides but it could really have done with on all 4 sides where it screws to the base to stop the slight 'give'.

Brilliant Budget BBQ
With a long, hot summer this year we wanted to do some BBQing but didn't want to buy a big, all-singing, all-dancing unit. What attracted me to this BBQ was that the flow of air underneath it could be altered and that would alter cooking time - that's not a feature you normally get in budget ranges. The BBQ was extremely put together and, though when purchasing I was a little concerned about its stability given it's a podium unit, my concerns were quickly put to rest. We've used the BBQ on the deck and on the lawn and in both cases it was extremely stable. The shaft of the unit has a wheel to open and close a shutter to increase or decrease the air flow, and therefore the rate of burn on the wood or charcoal. There is also a small pull-out ash pan that catches ash falling from the bowl of the BBQ which has a removal grill in it to let the airflow coming up the shaft in and to let ash fall out. Behind the bowl is a sturdy semi-circular steel ring that a) keeps the wind at by if you face the BBQ in the right direction and b) has slots to allow you to alter the height at which the circular grill is positioned above the flames. We get the BBQ going with a bit of dry wood, then swap to charcoal and let the flames dye out totally before putting the food on. On our first outing we stuck to basic bangers and burgers and they were all done to perfection. On the second outing I spatchcocked a large chicken and we blackened it on the grill before wrapping it in tinfoil and letting it sizzle in its parcel - it came out succulent after 20 minutes and our friends were amazed we'd done it on a cheap BBQ. Highly recommend this over the kettle BBQs in the same price bracket

Wow, for the money this is great, would highly recommend it.
Wow, for the money this is great, would highly recommend it. Perfect for a couple to 4 people and so easy to use. I found I wanted to put the coals on to something to improve ventilation under them so re-purposed a thick rack from a baking tin, which works great, the coals got white hot fairly quickly and boy does it kick out some heat. Need to use middle or top rack points to start with or it will burn things very quickly but once it's settled down ready for seconds, the low point is perfect. Need to weight it down with a couple of bricks on the edges of base as it does wobble a bit but not really an issue at this price. Brilliant little thing.

Brilliant but needs SS fittings and concrete in base to stabilise.
Haven’t used it yet but it looks fine and was easy to assemble. Taking the advice of other reviewers I discarded the mild steel nuts and bolts supplied and bought stainless steel ones to use. With washers this set me back an extra £18 but even so I think it worth it. If you do the same don’t forget to replace those attaching the ventilator and ash drawer handle. The whole thing is robust but extremely lightweight, could easily be knocked askew or over by slight bump so I have extended the 4 bolts attaching the pillar to the base by using ones that are 1 inch longer to act as a secure fitting and filling the base with concrete. It’s satisfyingly base heavy now and will never be upset, likewise me.

Fairly easy to assemble
Easy enough to assemble. The fixings supplied did not match the list in the instructions but it went together. Make sure you fit the ash tray before tightening completely as the chimney may need to be adjusted to make it fit. The BBQ itself works well but the tray and especially the slotted plate over the chimney discoloured badly after the first use. Stable enough if placed on an even surface.
