Bulk Pure Tryptophan Powder, 100 g, Packaging May Vary

It is trp, what it says on the tin. Hard to perceive any difference after first week of use though.

Edit: bulk still require that you order two, but have now lowered the price to £3 per bag which is way more affordable. I've ordered a few bags and just hope the below isn't true. I will update my review when I receive them.Original: I really liked this powder, as it seemed to work very well, but now Bulk are requiring that I purchase two at a time, which I cannot afford. I don't understand why this has changed. According to earlier customer reviews they had some kind of contamination issues, so it's possible they're trying to get rid of stock. Until I can purchase one at a time again this review remains at one star.

in 2015 these products were good. However in 2019 onwards several batches smell musty and are allegedly (Bulk Powders disputes this) contaminated with bacteria and mould. Why should I consume bad bacteria with a powder that is supposed to provide a health benefit? It is assumed that the manufacturing process (using E coli) or possibly a bulking agent introduced pathogens into this powder. Bad batches as follows: (look under the barcode) 000092433 and 000089185. These are best before 03/2021.Quality control and customer services at BULK POWDERS do not have any understanding of microbiology which is worrying. "Lauren - Customer Champion" stated: "Tryptophan powder is not able to support bacterial growth unless moisture is added to the powder." However that is exactly what the instructions require.Other customer services tried to amend her mis-step. "Jamie - Senior Multilingual Customer Champion" stated: "what my colleague was saying is that the product can't be contaminated in this way unless the packaging was compromised or it was stored incorrectly. Due to the amount of time which has elapsed and as we've received no other complaints regarding this, we won't be able to process any returns for opened items or refunds I'm afraid."Meanwhile I still have 4 unopened packs that I can post out to you, give to a charity shop, or send to anyone who's interested? Lesson learned: buying in bulk from Bulk Powders was a mistake!

I usually wake up 5+ times a night - if I wake up 5 times, it's amazing sleep for me. If I wake 10, it's average, if I wake 15+ times, it's bad. This is the only supplement I've tried out of tens of different ones that actually gives me so much more deep sleep. Works like a charm!!!

This is the cheapest good quality tryptophan I've found. It certainly works well (vivid dreams and all), but the downside is that taking it in powdered form is messy and not very pleasant. It doesn't really mix with water, so I just throw a scoop into my mouth (likely getting some bits of it on my hands and clothes because it's a very light powder) and drink some water. So, cost-effective, but not a great delivery method.

Good quality Trytopan - takes a while to build up, and always start low and go slow - to much at first can give you exploding head syndrome (its an actual thing!). After a few weeks, if you were low on trytophan/serotonin, you will be feeling more relaxed, able to deal with stress better and sleep will be deeper and more dreamy. Remember, if you are suffering from adrenal issues, to use with high dose B5 and Lipo Vitamin C as Trytophan will raise cortisol output and if your adrenals are struggling and not supported then it could be a disaster...
