Powerful and quiet
I had a cheaper kit installed and the fan unit stopped working one day. Even when the original unit worked we still suffered from condensation and lingering smells in the bathroom. This unit is much bigger than what it replaced but it fitted easily in the loft and it's noticeably many times more powerful than our old bathroom fan.In the loft we fitted the fan on a base board on top of a layer of insulation foam to cut down on vibrations. It is effectively silent throughout the house bar the reassuring flow of air through the vent whilst in the bathroom. There is a speed setting if you need to limit the flow of air and cut this noise. As a recent purchase I can't vouch for reliability but the unit is sturdy and appears well built.

Very good piece of kit - louder than I expected and it doesn't keep the bathroom clear of steam like some people reported. But it does work well, and with the overrun it's keeping our bathroom dry.

Recommended purchase by my electrician
Recommended purchase by my electrician. I read the other reviews and was dubious about how good this extractor would be. However, once fitted I could not believe the difference it made! It is supoer-quiet but also very effective at removing all the steam that builds up in the bathroom when you are taking a shower. No more misted up mirrors! This is an excellent quality product, worth every penny.

Powerful and quiet
I have used this range of fans for over 20 years to vent steam from our bathrooms. Used everyday for about 30 minutes they seem to have a life of about ten years. The fans themselves are relatively easy to instal and provide masses of suction while being very quiet. Because you can position them remotely, say in a loft space, all you hear is enough of a hum to give you confidence that the fan is doing it's work. The timer run on is an excellent feature really worth having and the length of time it operates for can be varied. I have about a 4 metre run of ducting to the outside so I let the fan run on for about 15 minutes to minimise the risk of water condensing in the ducting. I wouldn't hesitate to chose this fan every time. It may be quite expensive, but it's worth it

Very good, usual high quality Vent-Axia product.
I purchase Vent-Axia products as I have always found them very good quality and exceptionally reliable. I installed a ventilation system in the attic from the bedrooms to the landing. The fan runs constantly 24 hours per day. The fan is very quiet, quiet enough to have running overnight when you really need it on to avoid condensation and in turn mold. There are several of these fans available all with different flow rates so be sure to check you have one with enough umph for your job.

Stopped working after only 4 years
It was a great fan while it worked. Rather fiddly to install, but it extracted well. However it suddenly stopped working after only 4 years so probably not great build quality.

Good Fan, Problematic Run on Timer
A relatively quiet fan, effective and easy to install, however I have been unable achieve a run on time greater than about 6 minutes so there appears to be a problem with the timer, but in my case the time is adequate so I won't attempt the trauma of getting an exchange unit.

Stopped working after 3 1/2 months.
In August 2019 the fan was fitted/installed by a qualified electrician and initially worked efficiently. In January 2020 it stopped working, was checked by the same electrician. The wiring circuit etc was thoroughly checked and found to be correct. I am requesting a replacement/refund.
