HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 All-in-One Printer - Instant Ink Compatible

Pleased with printer and support from HP and TechnoworldAdvice with setupI experienced a problem with the initial setup that is trivial to resolve (having spent an hour talking to Technet and HP, who were both excellent).The problem: Following the setup routine, when I inserted the cartridges and closed the cartridge door, a fault with the printhead was reported (“The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed”).The solution: With the power on, open the cartridge door cover, wait until cartridges move to allow access, lift the white lever on the right of the cartridge assembly (rotates up and towards you), carefully remove the whole assembly (which includes the printhead underneath the cartridges), replace the assembly and pull the white lever down to lock in place.Presumably, the assembly was incorrectly seated and reseating it cleared the fault.Support from both HP and Technoworld was as good as it was possible to be; I was really impressed with them both.Initial thoughtsQuicker than my last printer.Seems sturdy.I like the 3 year warranty (register with HP, need serial number from the back of the printer and the invoice (available from the Amazon Orders page)).At the time of purchase, there is a £50 cashback offer available from the HP offers page (similar process as registering for warranty).Not done much printing yet but quality seems fine (needed to clean the heads to remove faint banding in the colours).

OfficeJet Pro 8725Upon open the printer it was a little bulkier than our current Officejet but took the amount of room where it sits. Setup was very easy, plugged in all the cables and downloaded the drivers from hp site and setup. cartridges were easy to put in. literally took minutes setup and was ready to go.We use this printer for printing, scanning and photocopying. Brilliant upgrade from our old printer, the touchscreen addition is awesome, very easy to use and speeds up the process. Printing from the phone via the app is a very handy and great feature. The print quality is superb and quick especially in black and white putting up against some laser printers for quality. The print quality on Photos was awesome. Being a wireless printer its fantastic, no need to plug in. Wireless connectivity is awesome and no connectivity issues, software very easy to installTo conclude this is a top printer and I would recommend to anyone. Very easy to set up and very easy to use. The quality of the printer is fantastic. For the office it is an ideal product as you can print, scan and photocopy with peace of mind.

I'm giving this 5 stars, but should say I've only had it a couple of weeks now. It handles paper really well, and has some very useful features like scanning a double-sided document in one go. Print quality looks good. Great for a small business. I knocked off a star because it gave me a notice that I didn't altogether understand about a genuine HP ink cartridge that had been used before being installed. This was a brand new machine, so I would have expected brand new ink cartridges. So saying, it appears to be working well. I haven't tried replacing inks yet so cannot comment on that.

Our printer worked and printed great, but a recent firmware update now bans the usage of any generic ink with the printer and there is no means to roll the firmware back. This means the costs to run this printer now far exceed the competition. Buy any other printer except an HP unless you have money to burn.

I have a home office and this just fits in nicely, although a bit noisy.Good machine, little involvement once set up.Would recommend :)

Delivery was prompt however the setting up / connecting was a problem had three calls to HP before it was resolved. I was without any facility from this HP machine for three days! HP were courteous and keen to resolve my problem clearly demonstrating to me it was a common difficulty with their machine.

Simply the most amazing and easy printer to set up and use. Everything just works and connects so easily to phones, iPads, computers and to the network. No painful searching for the device, installing complex software or drivers - it just works! It’s a beast of a printer but what you get for the money (especially with the £50 cash back and a 3 year warranty) is an office quality device. With the free ink throug HP Instant Ink as well it’s an absolute bargain. Soooooooo glad I took the plunge and binned my old Canon printer that was such a paint to connect to and use. Just wish I’d got one sooner!

This HP is one better than the previous one I owned. It is impossible for the printed sheets to finish up on the floor and it is a tad quicker at printing on both sides. It is bigger in size due to the design that prevents pages falling on the floor. The touch screen is slightly bigger than my previous machine.One function that it does not seem to be able to do, however, is to attach a scanned copy from a USB in the printer to an email. It seems that I have to take the USB out of the printer and put it in the back of my computer. With the previous printer I left the USB in the printer all the time and could attach copies to emails. Could there be something I have missed?
