great case, a few improvements could be made but well made and functional
So the case is really well made, as you might expect from Givi. The locking mechanism is simple to use, though seems redundant given the need or employment of a USB power cable being used whilst in action. In almost all cases, i removed my phone and leave the cradle attached to my bike.Functionality wise, the case fits the bike well.-My phone (Sony Z5 Premium would not fit comfortably, my older nokia lumia 820 did fit but was a bit small (Nokia lumia has world "Here" maps built in for free - cheaper than buying a sat nav)-The case didn't reduce the screen legibility or brightness, though i have to say, mobile phones in general do not have sunlight readable displays (they typically adjust brightness to compensate for the level of daylight)-Touchscreen was not hindered at all (capacitive touch screens are far more forgiving than resistive)-small opening at the bottom of the case to poke a usb cable through to keep the phone powered whilst in use is sufficient-haven't really had much weather on it as yet, but didn't see any moisture/condensation on the phone as a result of the using the caseI tested the above on a 24 hours ride to Lyon (France) and back to York (England) - the trip was cut short but otherwise i feel 2000km is sufficient to determine a fair review under those conditions.

Does the Job Well
I used to use a Garmin 500 bike GPS - until they discontinued the software updates rendering it DOA. However, the truth is that Google Maps works better anyway so it makes sense to simply use a phone. Which this allows.I use a Samsung Galaxy J7 which has a 5.5" screen and is about par for the course for thickness. It fits perfectly into this holder which, I think would neatly take up to a 6" screen mobile. It's deep enough to hold a phone from the 90's...Which means that I use the foam packer to ensure that the phone is tight against the clear plastic case so as to use and see the screen. The unit will fit most bikes part from maybe superbikes where there is no handlebar space. I have mine on a BMW S1000R and it's a tight fit but it works. The case itself locks onto the holder easily and can be placed in any position thanks to the ball joint. Once where you like it, it can be tightened to hold in place. To remove the case - with phone - you simply press a release button on the back and it comes free. There is an enclosed strap which you should hook onto another bit of the handlebars so that if anything does come loose you won't see your expensive phone vanish behind you at high speed. The quality is excellent and it appears to be robust and unlikely to break or fail with reasonable use. It's showerproof as is but if you are heading into a downpour there is a waterproof cover for this as well.Overall, this is a great way to keep a grip on your phone and of course make navigation simple and considerably cheaper than a dedicated bike GPS.

Holds like a limpet.
Initially purchased one of those £5 cases on eBay but the tightening mount mechanism failed after a couple of months and the plastic screen clouded over and wasn't good at deflecting strong sunlight obscuring the phone screen. This product was almost 10 times the price but is rock solid and has a number of great features. I particularly like the opening at the base of the case to draw a power cable into your phone (could also draw headphone lead) and also the edge lining over the zip to enhance the waterproof resistance. The case has a quick release mount speeding up placing and removing your phone and a safety cord in the event the case come off whilst in transit which I can't see happening but your phone is covered. The mount is very strong and once you have it fitted still allows to swivel the case horizontal or vertical when your on the move it has internal packers for ultra-slim devices and small Velcro straps to keep the device in place. You can continue to use the screen via the clear plastic but not with gloves on (certainly not the leather gloves I use) I would recommend that you get a Bluetooth connection to your phone via a dedicated device made by companies like Sena then use voice controls to operate the phone. All in all I happy with the price paid in comparison with the cheaper devices and its made by Givi who are of good repute as a manufacturer. One last comment on the cheaper cases, I am so glad the mechanism failed whilst I was stationary and not whilst in transit otherwise it could have been a very expensive and time consuming mistake replacing my smartphone.

Very well made but lacking degrees of rotation in the swivel
Thick sturdy and well made for my Samsung S10 plus. Much needed for rain. However, even with the padding included I found I needed to keep my case on my phone with the flap folded back to see the screen of course and to raise the phone inside so it meets the plastic screen of the case. I do find it will take some getting use to to swipe the screen as it is a bit unresponsive at times. Certainly no one wants to be pulling it out in the rain to use their GPS so well see if it works in the rain. Plus, the case is so thick I find hitting the on and off key to the right a but cumbersome also. The quick release is good but the swivel may be a problem for bikers whose bars are more slanted like mine as the degrees of rotation are minimal. All in all its good quality but probably they could have made the swivel go a bit further and I I'll just wait and see. Finally, the screen is too dark in daylight because of the thick plastic and if I didn't need it fir rain I'd really return it because swiping t hy e screen or pressing any buttons does not work.
