Great concept but made of material that does not last for even a year. :(
If I had rated this item right after I bought it, I would have given it 5 stars. It was so simple to just drape this weighted mat over the top rack contents of my dishwaher, which is where all the lightweight plastic ware goes. No need to stretch. No hooks to hook and unhook with each load. However, after about 6 months of about twice-weekly use, the mat is coming apart. Many of the connecting pieces that hold the rectangular section together have come apart. And if that were all, I think I still would have given a 4-star rating. However, besides the sections detaching from one another, the individual sections are also ripping, which is quite disconcerting as my husband and I a generally quite gentle with things. It is a great product and easy to use, but it just does not hold up well at all. I am so disappointed wondering what I'll try next to keep the flying plastic dishes where they belong.....

Does the intended job. But does introduce some new (less aggravating) problems.
Great idea. Does the job designed to do. I use it every load now. The mat is designed to lay atop of, conform to, and weight down items on a rack. It is made with a soft gel-like silicone material. The mat is heavily perforated with large holes and is divided into several panels connected by small (delicate?) tabs. There are a few unintentional consequences with the design of this mat: 1) the mat gets entangled in the tines and other features in the dishwasher making it frustratingly hard to lift up the mat and/or reposition it. The combination of the sticky gel-like nature of the silicon mat material and the holes in the mat give it an uncanny ability to become tenaciously entangled in features, particularly tines. 2) My dishes and glassware seem to not dry quite as thoroughly as when there is no mat, Even though there are numerous holes in the mat it still interferes slightly with the steam evaporation that dries the dishes. 3) Other reviews have complained about the mat coming apart. Although I haven’t experienced this problem, I can see how this could easily be the case since the mat has a tendency to tenaciously “grab” and stick to tines which places unintended stress on the (delicate?) tabs when removing it after a cycle or repositioning it for a load.

Amazing customer service
UPDATE:I contacted the seller Tripek directly instead of Amazon and received a response within a few hours!Ashley was incredibly understanding and sent me a replacement at no charge. I am shocked at how quick and thorough she handled it. I have been an online shopper for many, many years and have dealt with defective merchandise before, but Ashley is one of the best and most sympathetic sellers I've come across.***Thank you Ashley! You've gained a loyal customer by showing me that you value your clients (10 stars if I could!) ***--As for the product--I used it the same day to wash the baby bottles, pacifiers and lids. Absolute timesaver since I'm using a countertop dishwasher just for the baby items; the small items are too narrow and short to keep their place during the cycle and it was annoying to hand wash them especially with a crying infant in your arms!I have been looking for a way to prevent the lids and pacifiers from falling without using the standard baskets, since they take too much space. This mat kept everything in place and did what I hoped it would do.Also, the size of the mat is fantastic and the material (silicone) is sturdy, without being stiff and heavy!Thank you once again Tripek team!

Working Great
The DishwasherBUDDY has been working great. It has just enough weight to keep the plastic containers and covers from moving around while the dishwasher runs.I had been using the Boon Span Dishwasher Net for about five years. It worked pretty well. But something cut the netting; I replaced it, and the new one was cut, too. The Boon Span netting is stretched tight, and I think it takes little to nick it, and it soon breaks completely with the stretching and the heat. I suspect the edges of the plastic containers nicked the netting. The DishwasherBUDDY will not have this problem.

Innovative and useful
Being a bachelor, I don't have as much Waterford Crystal as some due to it's inability to rebound from drops from 5 ft or more. Thus, I generally opt for something lighter materials with more plasticity and thus lighter, which gets blown into the next county when run in dishwasher. This is the product I've been waiting for to ease and enhance my domestic abilities. Great idea, great product.

Who knew this product existed - so great!
I used small plastic containers and lids to reuse for nuts, fruits, salads etc. Once they go flying around the dishwasher, they slide beneath the spinning blade and mess up the wash cycle or worse. This product to the rescue. I tried putting all the light things in cage containers but they still fly free somehow. Now I use this product to hold them in a basket for super small items or I just place a strip I cut from the large product to lightly weigh down the light objects in the wash. Perfect! Thank you inventors and also thank you amazon for allowing this kind of super unique product to come to my attention. I had no idea others had this kind of problem as well.

How have I lived without this.
These should come standard with dishwashers! Why didn't anyone seem to know about this product? What a time saver no more tipped over plastic with dirty disgusting water in them that inevitable will be sloshed all over my nice clean dishes when trying to unload!!

Does the job beautifully but FRAGILE
I love that it fits across entire top rack securing everything that is normally tossed about and filled with water. However, it is in 4 pieces after a year. Could I have been a little more careful with it in the beginning before I realized how easily the connector tabs are broken? Yes, which is why I'm going to give this product a second chance. I'll update in another year, but for now it's 3 stars because it really didn't stay intact after a few months of twice weekly dishwasher loads.
