My neighbours didn’t like me anyway!
Wow! This is without doubt the best sub I’ve owned. I bought this to replace two Kef 2010 subs in my cinema after one finally packed up, and I can confidently say this one Yamaha unit outclasses the pair of Kef’s by some way. It also outclasses my Mordaunt Short MS308 by a country mile on volume, response and clarity.I set the unit in cinema mode with a 60hz crossover as I predominantly use the audio system for movie soundtracks but when listening to music I find it is a little more dynamic than when listening on the music setting. The frequencies this thing delivers are where I’m most blown away. At high volume this thing will wallop you with effortless room shaking 20hz and zero distortion. That’s bass you can feel rather than hear! The piano black looks very premium which I’d expect at this price point and the front controls are convenient, although I prefer to control everything from my amp and leave the volume on the sub alone, so for me I’d prefer the volume to be on the back to prevent it getting accidentally adjusted. Some reviewers complain about the integrated power lead but I prefer this as it means I can have the sub flush with the wall as there’s no bulky cable in the way. This is important as it’s quite a bit bigger than my Kef and Mordaunt Short units.I’m really enjoying this unit and it’s definitely worth the extra over the cheaper class of subs as the extra clarity and thump are so satisfying! My neighbours are not going to be happy!

It's a Yamaha
Looks smart with it's gloss black finish and I bought to replace a NS-SW050 subwoofer that I had connected to my Yamaha R-N2000A receiver before which it now turns on and off with my Receiver. And sound well it's a Yamaha.... Say no more.

Musically very good with quality fast Bass.
Positives of the sub (NS-SW300) are sound quality, I use it for music only and it has lots of options for tuning it to a level you can enjoy. I tried all 3 ways to connect it and found the single sub connector to be the weakest as it cross overs at 90 htz, this gave a almost continual unpleasant drone on most modern music. The twin RCA connectors or speaker cable connections worked best for me, I have the cross over manually set to 55 htz and this gives thump without drone on most music.Negative PIANO BLACK FINISH, really avoid this if you can, looked great for about 2 hours then as this is basically a box with a huge magnet inside you can guess what happens. I've never seen anything like it for attracting dust, withing 2 days it was no longer black but grey. And the Piano finish is soft so even with a micro-fiber cloth it turns to a haze due to needing cleaning almost hourly. I've now positioned mine out of sight which in fairness is the best place for a sub regards sound quality anyway. Despite the RRP being higher than the Matt finish, you can often find the Piano finish on sale for cheaper, I think for this reason.

Better than expected!
This replaces a dead Tannoy subwoofer and after looking around looked the best value for us. Set up was very easy and I must admit it is way superior to the outgoing Tannoy subwoofer. Tried a few different movies and after getting the crossover and the volume setting just right it really beefs up movies and music through my Yamaha AV receiver. Great speedy delivery too.

Good sound
Over all good quality, sound is better than I was expecting. I keep mine set at the lowest frequency due to having lager floor standing speakers, volume set at 5 is plenty but this may vary with your setup and position in the room. Plus if you have one or two of them, wish I was allowed two 😞 loool

Punches above its size!
Very very happy with this sub.... I have very large Q fronts with medium sides & rears on my 7.1 SS & it does more than what is needed... in fact it's only running at around 40%. It delivers punch when needed as well as a subtle warm tone otherwise... the NSSW300 could quite easily cater for a small cinema or pub, one thing I have learnt recently & that is I have great neighbours! Great value at its price have mates who have paid more for what has delivered much less..5 stars from me & a must buy if looking for a sub.

Solid subwoofer
It is a very well made subwoofer. The weight itself gives the idea. I use this with Denon PMA-600NE Integrated Amplifier and two of Creative Cambridge S700 Giga work 70w speakers. It works well for me and I happy with the product. The only problem I have is the needs to reach for it to switch on. Two buttons (one on the back and one in the front) to get going. The music and movie mode is also manual. Wish there was a remote for these functions.
