Very well made and does the job.
I really like Pacsafe, but have defaulted to CabinMax when going transatlantic with a high carry-on weight limit (BA/AA etc). This really does the job well, although isn't the full carry=on size for BA. If I was taking the kitchen sink, then my cabinmax will have to come out again,Plenty of space in the main compartment, with a good laptop sleeve and place for documents etc.Not perfect, but does the job it's made for very well.Excellent construction and comes with a hawser to lock it up, should you need that level of protection.

Best carry-on backpack for security
Best carry-on backpack for security, perfect for travelling light. I have bough previously many items from pacsafe (sling bags, wallets, money belts) and I have always enjoyed to use them. This backpack is well made, discrete, solid and secure. I like the opening of the main compartiment for a quick access. The locking system is realy clever. Also it'is very comfortable to carry on your back and can be easyly and quickly tranformed in a kind of suitcase with 2 padded handles.

Great backpack in every way - I just wish I did not have to use a lock it should be integrated
Great backpack in every way. Very high quality. The only negative I can say is I wish I did not have to use a lock it should be integrated.

Amazing bag just wish the front pouch had more access
The zips are sturdy and love that they lock into each other and they all get tucked under a flap which can hold your coat.Things I don't like it the front pouch zips cannot use this section when the bag is full very easily. I feel that laptops should have a pouch next to the back for better weight distribution. The straps I love that they fold away but when the bag is full they are not the comfiest. My boyfriend has a Tortuga which is extremely expensive but can not fault the back support and strapping. after a day on the move, my shoulders were sore. I am 5ft 10 and feel that the bag isn't long enough for my frame to sit properly with the hip straps. The bag is also missing the straps on the holders to help bring it closer to your back. I feel I slope forward when carrying the bag to accommodate for this.Overal it has nice safety features but comfort is lacking. Its also extremely small volume wise and you need packing cubes to make it all fit.

Good idea, poor execution!
The bag itself is comfortable to wear and is stable under heavy loads. However, unfortunatley after travelling around South East Asia for 3 months and opening/closing the bag numerous times a day to access my belongings, the zip broke. The 'pull' (the part you grab to open/close) the zip snapped off becuase the metal bent as it was not sturdy enough to withstand the stresses of opening and closing. This not only made accessing my belongings very difficult, but it also rendered the main security method of securing the zips on the lock completely useless. As such my bag was a nightmare to use left me in constant worry about my belongings. Not what you want when you are meant to be enjoying yourself on holiday and have paid a large sum of money for a bag! I would purchase the bag again as it is a nice product, however I would strongly advise purchasing from Pacsafe and not from a 3rd party like All Outdoor Ltd. The reason for this is because you get a 5-year warranty if you purchase the bag from a recognised seller of Pacsafe products.

Really disappointed in PacSafe this time
I own several PacSafe products, so I'm normally a big fan, but the EXP45 is a major disappointment. It was supposedly designed with air travel in mind. Due to the fees and restrictions on check-in luggage these days, what we generally want from a cabin bag is to utilize the maximum cabin-luggage space allowed. The EXP45 fails miserably in this regard. Although it varies from airline to airline, most will allow cabin bags with these dimensions: L 55 cm x W 40 cm x H 25 cm (55 liters). The EXP45's outer dimensions are approx. L 50 x W 35 x H 19 (but more about height below). The overall space of the bag is forcibly broken up into two very shallow and impractical compartments: the main compartment and the "pocket" section. The maincompartment's inner dimensions, which cannot be expanded or stretched, are: L 48 x W 33 x H 12 = about 18 liters due to rounded corners. Very SMALL and very SHALLOW!The pocket section's realistic inner dimensions, which also cannot be expanded or stretched, are approx.: 46 x 30 x 6 (barely 7 liters due to rounded corners and tapering shape). This already-thin section is further broken up by all kinds of inner pockets and subsections. All in all, the bag realistically offers no more 25 liters -- out of a potential 55 liters allowed on most airlines! The main compartment and pocket section are separated by a hard, thick padded buffering that would have been better placed on the outer shell. Instead, sitting in-between, it eats right into the already-limited internal packing space and imposes a rigidity that doesn't allow for stuffing the bag the way we normally need to when traveling. The point of having a backpack with straps that can be stowed away, is to adapt it to situations where the "backpacker look" is too informal -- perhaps a business meeting or fancy hotel. With other PacSafe luggage, such as the EXP65, an attached flap can be zipped over the straps, converting the backpack to a "suitcase" in two seconds. With the EXP45, no such flap is provided. Instead, the straps are designed to be squashed inside and behind the rigid padding on the back. This is easily a five-minute task that results in a very uneven bottom shell and a lopsided "suitcase" that won't sit, pack or open properly. This tuck-away feature is also a major waste of precious space, taking as much as 6 cm of height (potentially 13.2 liters out of 55 allowed by airlines). And the EXP45 fails as far as disguising the backpack look. The end result is a very awkward strapless backpack.Even when stretched full, the overall height of the bag is barely 20 cm (internally only 12+6 cm), of which 6 cm is not fully utilized due to the smaller footprint of the pocket section

Love it!
Love. I’ve been searching a loooong time for a good travel backpack and I think I’ve finally found the one! Sorry travel backpack makers but most of the ones I’ve seen are ugly and bulky. This one is sleek and clean looking without compromising on function!Pros:- opens like a suitcase. I can’t even begin to explain all the ways in which this is convenient! Let’s you see everything and fits 4 medium travel cubes.- Zippers. These are quality heavy duty zippers. The interlocking feature is awesome.- Locking bar system is great and the flap that hides all the zippers is exactly what I’ve been looking for. You don’t need a separate lock though you can add one. It comes with a cable you could use to secure your bag to something.- Tuck away waist straps. I like that they can be tucked away for when you’re using the backpack as a duffle-type bag or are just not a waist strap kind of person- Water bottle holder. Most of the travel backpacks that open like luggage don’t have, or have really tiny water bottle holders! This one is big enough, and more importantly, deep enough, to hold a 40 oz hydroflask type water bottle.- Material. Super tough and durable.- Smaller compartment has a ton of pockets inside for keeping little things. There’s at least two zippered pockets inside which I love to keep things like keys, wallet etc- Fits under the seat!- Padded straps and back! You’ll need it for this bag!Cons (though definitely not deal breakers IMO!)- I would like a back pocket access maybe to access small things like a passport, wallet, earphones etc, it’s definitely a secure bag!- No laptop pocket. The next version should have a back out side access for this. I’ve traveled with a laptop in a sleeve and placed in the front compartment but a back out side access would be useful.- It’s a little heavy-ish. I’m 5’1” and when it’s filled it’s definitely heavier than your usual bag but I think that’s to be expected. Just prepare yourself if you’re like me and are used to stuffing a regular backpack.- It’s a little pricey but in the long run I feel like it’ll be worth it. Prior to this I’ve just used cheap bags that fall apart after a few uses.Overall, I’d totally recommend and would purchase it again!

Even when filled to capacity, it was easy to fit in the overhead bin of a short-haul propeller plane
Wonderful product! I took it on a 2.5-week through Morocco and Spain last month and it proved its worth. It's well designed, well made, holds a lot of stuff and always fit in the airlines' luggage bins. I recommend using packing cubes to maximize space, and bringing along a waterproof cover just in case you get caught in a storm.

Läuft also.2.
