sounds bad, perhaps another reed.

Cheap garbage
Not even quality garbage. As you can see, the reed hole is not properly done, so the reed can't seat properly. The finger holes are out of line as well.In the side to side you can tell the cheap, hand engraved one. This is also about half the weight of the quality chanter, so you know it's some cheap, low quality wood stained to look like rosewood. If you are serious about learning, spend between $90-$150 to get quality and a book, like I am doing next.

Disappointed
Well you know you get what you pay for, I bought this just so I could get the case. The reads are not well made and the chanter holes are not lined up correctly ( at least to me). The case is not the best quality, if you have a child learning to play the bagpipes this would be perfect.

The finger holes seemed off to me.
I really liked how this chanter looked and the tidy case that it comes with, however I was unable to play it due to the craftsmanship.

A childs toy that does not produce music.
I thought I had done everything correctly in taking a path to play bagpipes. But it seems I should have started by watching a You Tube class first. There they teach you your practice enchanter, as an inexpensive one, should be around $70-$90 and should be from Dunbar or Gibson or another brand name that is known. I bought this because it came in a case and thought it would be a good thing well protected. But when I started playing it I got very little in the way of sound, no directions on how to insert the reed, and decided I needed the lesson.I knew I was in trouble when the one instructor commented "you know it is garbage just seeing the white reed" and you can see the white reeds here too. After learning how to hold the chanter and how I should blow I went back to this. I inserted the reed deeply, joined the pieces together, and kept all finger holes open. I got a tone! But then found that as I move my fingers over the holes that I could only produce 3 unique tones. Almost all of the other positions produced the same tone as if I had no fingers in place.Another thing to note: the good chanters will have the holes counter sunk. This makes it as easy to find the small holes on the chanter as it is to find the holes on the bagpipe chanter. This is wood but the holes are not countersunk. Both Dunbar and Gibson sell chanters here on Amazon. Don't waste your money, go get one from them now. Do not walk, do not pass go, DO NOT BUY THIS CHANTER.

Get what you pay for
This is good for a small child that wants to play alone side someone...very basic

Do not buy. Find a name brand chanter
This is an absolutely terrible product. The pieces donโt fit together properly, the metal engravings are scratched in, the holes for you fingers are the wrong sizes, and the reed hole is too large . Not only does it look bad but is unplayable. You canโt even get a proper low G or gracenote out without it going out of tune.
