Pokémon Indigo League: Season 1

As a long time Pokémon fan I’ve always wanted to have a physical copy of the original series. Manga Entertainment have finally released most of season 1 to the UK.The episodes are exactly as they were back in 1998 but with the ‘Who’s that Pokémon section?’ unfortunately removed. Apart from that everything about the dvds are fine and were a nostalgic experience bringing back old memories. The product doesn’t contain the entire season 1 due to the way it was originally broadcast in the US after Japan.To wrap up, I would recommend this to any long time or beginning Pokémon fan despite the price.

If you're reading this then you're no doubt a fan of Pokémon or you're buying for someone that is. This is the season that kicked it all off. Pokémon. The phenomenon that changed a generation and is still going strong as ever in 2020.To this day I still love Pokémon and still play the games released by Game Freak, but I stopped watching the show when I was a child as I lost access to the channels that aired them. Now as an adult I wanted to watch them all again and in the best possible quality. That's where this item comes in.I love that this release maintains the original 4:3 aspect ratio, it brings back all the nostalgia you will ever need! I also like that they've removed the "who's that Pokémon" segment as this was a device used to keep people watching during the ad breaks which obviously wouldn't apply to a home release. With this segment gone the episodes maintain strong pacing and flow.Unfortunately due to various complaints, legal issues, and ratings conflicts episodes 18, 35, 38, 52 and 53 are missing which is a massive shame as I'm a strong believer in acknowledging past mistakes and growing from them rather than pretending they never happened (looking at you Disney), making those who never saw the original run miss out. With these episodes removed the total number of episodes included in this release is 52 which is not the full Season 1 (you get episodes 1-57 sans the ones mentioned above). Again, disappointed by this.Despite the negatives I still recommend this blu-ray to anyone looking for that nostalgia hit or as someone looking to get into Pokémon for the first time!

I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TO FIND THAT THIS WAS A REGION 2 DVD AND NOT REGION 1 AS STATEDTHIS IS AN EXCELLENT SERIES EPISODES 1 TO 52 ARE IN THIS SET ALTHOUGHN THERE ARE SOME EPISODES MISSING, THESE ARE BEAUTY AND THE BEACH. this episode is missing.Princess vs. Princess, The Purr-fect Hero are shown out of order these are on the indigo league complete collection on region 1 dvd's from america. THE LEGEND OF DRATINI, CYBER SOLDIER PORYGON,THE LEGEND OF DRATINI, CYBER SOLDIER PORYGON, THESE EPISODES WERE NOT SHOWN AND WERE REMOVED DUE TO RED AND BLUE STROBE LIGHTS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH SOME Japanese CHILDREN

It's a nice DVD set. The reason I give 4/5 is due to the fact that it's incomplete. There are only 52 episodes out of the first season in this set. It is missing the bulk of 30 episodes.

As a fan of Pokemon & a fan of the show I was glad to see that the first series was being released on the UK region DVD but was disappointed that this box set only does have the first 52 episode & not the full amount of episodes so do hope that eventually the rest of the episodes of this series are released so do bare in mind that when buying this box set it's not the full amount of the first series

I did not get shipped with any bubbleplastic or such thing, but luckly nothing were damaged, one of the discs had a light scratch but should not be any kind of problem. the HD-master itself are not to impressive but still a nice product to have in Blu-ray! :) main menu music should not have had the added sound effects, never heard them before and i thought it had some audio errors.

Bought this as a fun gift for children (25 and 22) as they grew up with the series. We watched the first episode together and it brought back so many memories. I have been watching them since .... love catching up with Ash and his friends.

I enjoyed the series but disappointed at the end cause it doesn't show the actually indigo competition at all
