At first I wondered why it took so long to come then when it did I saw it came from USA! This was a bit of a shock I must say as I had no idea when I bought it. That said yes it is a lot more expensive when you can buy these from the pound shop. You get what you pay for though, this is a very strong thrower with a good quality ball that doesn't split in half at the 1st catch. I have waited to review this to see if it lives up to the price. It does! Feels so much better than the flimsy cheap versions and the balls go a great distance when thrown. I am useless at throwing so it is a great help. As if is sturdy too if the dog grabs it in excitement it doesn't fall too bits. Mine is still going strong and the handle fits nicely in my hand. To me it is worth the extra cost.

This is simply my findings from using the chuckit for my dog. Hopefully if you don’t know what you’re doing either, then this review helps!I bought this to have a slightly better lobbed for taking on walks. We already had a few, but as our dog has grown, she’s also got a lot faster - so I looked for a bit of a longer range lobbed and this caught my eye.Obviously it comes with the chuckit ball included. Its a fairly short felt with rubberised seams and is slightly heavier than a normal tennis ball. Its not massively different in weight but slightly noticeable. It should make a difference in distance due to the momentum. Having used a tennis ball after which is exactly the same size, I wouldn’t say it makes a massive difference. The ball is, as you can see, bright orange. This makes it a lot easier to see the ball in grass - BUT I still managed to loose it on the first outing. However, as I said, normal tennis balls fit just fine.In terms of the chuckit itself, the rubberised grip is soft and a nice touch. Using it with the normal flick of the wrist results in a very respectable distance achieved. Indeed, trying your hardest, with maximum effort, doesn’t achieve much of an improvement - so its a lot more about wrist than about strength. Great for tiring the dog out without needing to have a rest yourself!Given the fact that I’ve already lost the ball, I can’t comment on what some have said about it being easy to destroy. It got a good working over before it was lost, and there was no adverse effect so I think its more than adequate. I can’t bring myself to pay money for more given that they get lost so easily. The chuckit itself is a fairly simple device, with nothing really to go wrong. I can’t imagine it would ever snap. The worst thing would be the grip either perishing...or more likely the dog chewing it! However, if it does fail in a short period then as always I will update this review.

This is the best ball thrower we have used.Technique takes a little getting used to as is slightly different to other throwers but it is much better quality and ball goes much further.It is quite expensive for a ball thrower but we've had it a couple of years now and it's still as good as new, the ball grip is still great and still throws as long as ever.

We (and the dog) love this ball thrower. It makes throwing balls so much more fun. It's sturdy and appears durable, which justifies the cost to some extent. If you get it right it can throw satisfyingly high and far. The only reason why I'm not giving it five stars is that it doesn't quite work with a standard tennis ball - a bit of a failing in my opinion. The ball that comes with it was destroyed in a couple of days of course. A standard tennis ball can be wedged in the scoop, but you need to pull it out half way before throwing, otherwise it just sticks in the scoop. A bit of the pain if the ball is covered in ick!

My old ball flinger bust, and after reading the reviews here I thought I would give the Chuckit a go, not really expecting it to be much different from my cheap but broken old thing. Perhaps it is because I splashed out and bought the rubber balls as well, but I have never made my dog run so far or so fast for her ball! In an open space it is simply amazing - the ball flies easily 3 times as far as it used to with the old flinger, and because it is bouncy, it gives her much more fun trying to catch it. It is a tad tricky to throw only short distances, but I am practicing and improving on that score.The ball is very secure in the cup of the end which makes it easy to carry around without fear of it dropping out, and also easy to securely pick up the disgusting slobber-coated muddy ball for another chuck.My dog loves the soft but resilient rubber balls that I bought to go with it, and my misgivings at being so extravagant have been replaced by the sheer pleasure of watching her run, jump and catch, and at times hunt for the ball which she loves to carry around in her mouth.The rubberised grip on the handle is a huge help to accurate throwing as it does not twist in your grip, even when my hand is wet from stroking a soggy dog, I still have no slippage on the handle, and have not yet managed to throw the Chuckit along with the ball (this was a common occurrence with the old totally plastic flinger), nor hit myself painfully on the knee when the darn thing slipped.In summary, I am most impressed, and would not hesitate to recommend the Chuckit ultra grip to anyone with an active dog and some open space (needs to be at least the size of a football pitch, as I can easily, without any real effort, throw the ball and it will go the entire length of the pitch and beyond). The only downside I can see is when your dog fails to see where the ball has gone - it can be quite a long walk back to find it again!

Great product. Feels very strong compared to other launchers I have had and there is more flexi in it so the ball does go that bit further. Not so keen on the ball it comes with though - not as durable - just a cheap tennis ball. We bought the other chuckit balls to go with it which are much better. The launcher quality is so much better than all the cheap ones you buy in pound stores etc, the grip is soft with no sharp bits which are common on the cheap ones too.

Throws ball far & makes it easier on my elbow. Coco loves to retrieve the ball. Is a lab & ball is ok size for her mouth. Was concerned would be too small. It isn't. Coco is 2 & needs this type of exercise, but I slowed up throwing in our southern summer heat. Would buy again.

Se prima dell'acquisto del chukit quello che mancava era la forza nel lancio, adesso quello che manca è lo spazio... se applicassi tutta la forza del braccio, la pallina finirebbe nel cortile del condominio di fronte ai giardini dove porto il cane!Comodo per far correre il proprio amico senza sforzarsi e (meraviglioso) senza sporcarsi la mano di terra, saliva ed erba.Prodotto semplice ma geniale!
