Well worth the Purchase: Great Quality, Great Price, Great Product
I bought this for a family member to replace their glass peep-hole viewer and add some extra security.Brilliant decision. They love it, and so do I. It provides a clear picture and has a really simple, no fuss operation - one button to show and hide the screen. For the price, you can't go wrong, and Yale make sturdy stuff. I'll be getting one myself.Quality - Great. Shows clearly all the identifiable features you need to see, in day and night. It does not have IR LEDS so it's not night vision, but provided the area is lit well enough, you'll see whoever is behind the door. If you have a light right next to the camera at night, it may struggle to correctly expose the image but that's to be expected from such a small sensor.Operation - you press the sole large button on the back to show the image for around 10 to 15 seconds, after which the screen goes black. Press it each time you need it. It's instant on, no lag time for the picture to show.Battery - 2 AAA. installed a month now, daily use and still running on the first set. Cant say how long they will last, but that's good enough for me. Add in rechargeable cells, and no issues here.Simple installation - take out old peephole, adjust size of door hole if needed (this one was just shy of the 14mm adaptor, so it needed a bit of expansion), drop in the right sized adaptor (provided), install the bracket on the rear of the door and that's essentially it. The camera connects to the rear module by a thin cable and locks into the bracket which is screwed into the door - so no one is pinching it. The unit is kept secure on the door by a locking lug.Overall, I cannot fault the product, and the price is great value considering the other products out there that are from far less reputable brands.Just a word of caution for those who think this is a recorder - it's not. It's a digital peep hole replacement, instant on. If you want internet-enabled features, look elsewhere and bump up the budget!

overall a good purchase and useful
I found it easy to install. The function of just manually clicking a button when someone is at the door is simple but works for me. It can only be used in daylight hours as no IR so in order to get a picture outside at night you will need a bright light illuminating the area. Also I had limited space in where I could install it and it can only be mounted horizontally. It is mounted via a fixed mount in the middle of the device so mine has to overhang the door a little but still looks ok. Would have been good if it could be mounted portrait but overall a good purchase and useful.

Simple neat and effective
This is a simple and excellent device that has replaced a traditional 'spy hole' without any significant modifications to the door. It provides a much clearer image that is do much easier to use.It was quite easy to fit. Used the same 14mm hole that original 'spy hole' used. A couple of other reviews mentioned it was a bit fiddley to assemble. Maybe just a little, but no big deal at all.The image is good. Excellent view of the outside of door, and so much easier to use than the dot hole.It looks very neat on the outside... just like the original spy hole. Much smaller than all of the alternate products that offer integrated bell and/or night vision. It also looks good on inside. I was concerned it might be bulky and unsightly. Far from it. Looks like an iPhone really.Overall very happy with product. Simple, neat and effective.

See what you wanted to see
Absolutely great piece of kit and very easy to install, (fiddly getting the bracket support screw back in when it is against the door only 'grrr' moment I had. Great picture quality, probably obvious but I missed it, the outside camera does HAVE to be a particular way up or shows tilted or upside down, another daft moment for me so had to do it twice but all in all, excellent gadget and recommended. I do have a nightlight on PR outside my door so night vision 5 star for me, may not be for you.

Good concept/poor night-time images
Really like the concept. It's quite straightforward in terms of installation; I had to drill a hole into the door and from there on, it's quite easy. Simply fit the bracket on the inside, attach the camera to the outside, feed the small cable through, attach it to the screen and finally attach the screen on to the bracket.Daytime image quality is average; the images aren't very crisp but it's quite easy to tell who is at the door. Night time quality is a real let-down however and this is where I wish Yale had invested a little more effort. It's almost impossible to tell who is at the door and the image takes a few seconds to "develop" before you can even attempt to recognise the person. A porch light helps - ours is a little dim so I'm planning on installing a new one in order to achieve better visibility when it's dark.Battery life seems to be holding up; we've had it running for over a month and so far there are no signs that the batteries are running low. Build quality is reasonably good for the price and it looks pretty smart once installed. If you're debating whether to go for this or a traditional peephole viewer, my recommendation would be to go for this. It's a lot easier to press a button to see who's at the door than to have to put your nose up against the door every time.

Standard glass peephole is better than this..
First, the device came faulty and showing random lines instead of image every second button press or so. Second, the image quality displayed when it works is a joke.. The screen goes dim almost instantly, so dim that its impossible to recognize whos is behind the door, face of the person is totaly black.. The build quality feels so cheap.. Random £20 Dash cam produces 10x better image quality than this.. This is unacceptable from brand like Yale, cant believe they trying to push this device for £70.
