100 Years of Fashion Paperback – 1 May 2012

I bought this as a birthday present for my fashion-conscious niece, but couldn't help taking a look before I wrapped it up. It brought back so many memories of fashions I've worn myself over the decades plus reminders of the iconic fashions of the past such as the Dior new look that I recall from old magazines of my mother's. The illustrations are superb: a mix of wonderful fashion drawings and photographs. It's a bargain even at full price for wealth of material. I think I'm going to buy another copy for me!

Very comprehensive, great value second hand book

I purchased this book for 3 16 - 19 year old teenagers, as a different present idea. it has been a success on each occasion,their mums enjoying dipping into it also. good quality text and photographs, well laid out and interesting to read. a present that remains long after the nail varnish and fashion top have been discarded.

Lovely book and I love the front of the cover too it's soo pretty! That alone gives me inspiration!It's a great book because I'm a designer myself, it's got alot of things in it that I can relate to with my work. I think the price is great, this would be far more expensive in the book shops. I would recommend this book to everyone that likes fashion, or who is studying fashion aswell.

Fabulous book. Bought for my granddaughter.

A fabulous book that not only showcases artists who were chosen by renowned designers and magazines to represent their creations, but reminded me of forgotten/unknown illustrators, designers and fashion trends - loved it!!!Sadly the more modern representations were far outdone by the earlier periods, technology and photography taking over the 'front covers' I guess.A great gift from a dear friend that I would have bought myself if I had found it first.

My 13 year old daughter loves this book. Actually so do I. History and fashion all with gorgeous pictures. One minor word of caution: the last few drawings dating from 2000's are a bit 'racey' so may not be suitable for younger children. Which is a shame as otherwise one could recommend this for anyone who enjoys looking at fashion design drawings.

Love this book! got it as a gift for a friend and she loves it even more. It is a type of book that keeps on giving. Great quality of the paper and the insights inside are amazing! You don't need to be into fashion to appreciate it. But if you like history, give it a try. :)
