Volkel 180/0020 M 20 x 1.5 HSS Conduit Die

Does what it's meant to.

I hadn't performed conduit threading before and bought a new die cheaply at an auction. Although branded, it was impossible to start a thread and all it did was chamfer the end of the tube. Thought I'd pay a bit more and tried this Volkel die, though it was slightly too wide to fit my ancient die holder, so I ground the die smaller with a bench grinder (using frequent water quenching).Using RTD compound, the die cut a dozen excellent threads on Class 4 conduit, following which there was no sign of wear or damage on the cutting teeth.

Probably ok but can’t find a supplier of suitable die stock holder

tricky to use without a recommended handle for it to fit into... ended up not using in the end, too fiddly and time consuming.Sourced pushfit conduit instead.

Does what it says, very good quality for the price. Too big for my normal die holder, but it has two notches at right angles that i can grip with my Stilson wrench.

Good price and cuts thread easily.

Very happy with this die! Well made and with good sharp cutting edges that don't need too much force to use, produces an excellent thread. I'll definitely look out for this brand in future when I need replacements
