Brought this after holidaying in Cyprus which we played this a lot. For the price you get a very well made set heavy and sturdy. Comes in a lovely travel bag for summer days at the beach or park

This set of boules is great if you like playing this game however is great as a gift too. I bought mine because we like playing and this is my first metal set. First of all, as I opened the box I liked the care in the presentation of the product as you open the box you find the green bag and inside it the eight boules, each of them protected by a small fabric pouch with a string at the top. This prevents the boules to bump into one another when you carry them by hand.The boules come marked in pairs, each pair has a different marking and they can be easily recognised in normal conditions. The only drawbacks I see is that people whose sight is not 100% may find it challenging to recognise their boules at a distance; another point is the weight - these are solid metal and while my 7yo child can easily play, some people may find the bag with the eight boules heavy to carry.That said, this is in my opinion a good quality product and I would buy it again, either for myself or as a present for someone. It deserves five stars.

We ordered this luxury boules set as we enjoy playing boules very much and thought it would be good to have a quality set as we expect to use it for some time.It arrived very carefully wrapped in 2 cardboard boxes and a sturdy carrying case. The balls themselves have a good weight, each arrived wrapped in a cloth bag which kept them very secure. We had a bit of trouble getting the jack out of the bag as it was so well placed, but once we had unwrapped it we enjoyed playing games with them.I contacted Jaques after they asked me to write a review several times because the balls had small dents in them where they had come into contact with each other during play. They have assured me that this is normal unless you buy competition quality boules which cost 50 euros each. It is just for our entertainment, so I wouldn't pay that much, but just to let potential buyers know. Jaques customer service were very helpful.

I recently ordered this game from Jaques because I wanted a good quality set at a reasonable price. The reviews were excellent and I paid extra to have the order expedited. I live in Portugal so the delivery charges almost doubled the price of the game. However, it was so worth it! The quality of the product is second to none. Beautifully packaged and presented, plus a real joy to play with. I would not hesitate to buy further items from Jaques and highly recommend their workmanship and service.

Are these second hand??? Delivery was excellent and they were beautifully packaged in sturdy cardboard and individually wrapped in cloth bags. All great, but when I checked them several had dents and scratches (as though they'd been bashed whilst playing) or the chrome finish was tarnished and marked, and a couple of the cloth bags had holes in them. I get the impression perhaps they were unchecked returns from a previous sale rather than the hand-finished/craftsmanship that was described. I bought these because I'd heard of the Jaques brand and was happy paying more for the quality. If they were new they'd be great - excellent weight, good presentation - but they were a gift and I can't give them as they are, so will have to return them. I see in hindsight I should have read some other low reviews as it looks like others have experienced the same thing.

I ordered two different boules sets at the same time - a cheaper one for a group present and an expensive set for us i.e. this Jacques set. The leap in quality obtained paying a little more with this set is extraordinary. No comparison. The quality of the boules set itself but also their very strong, taseful and sensible bag (no box with sharp corners for children) is just great. It constitutes a really special memorable present. I use Amazon lots and hardly ever write reviews so this is provoked by genuine sincere delight at receiving quality that out did my expectations - too rare these days!

Having played petanque in France over a number of years we are planning a family holiday to Brittany in the summer. No such holiday would be complete without the opportunity to 'pointer' and 'tirer' with the family. This set is a thing of beauty: reassuringly heavy and shiny, and each boule has it's own little bag.All that is needed now is a nice flattish stretch of fine gravel and the return of my eye...

Wer diese Boule-Kugeln kauft, erhält ein sehr hochwertiges Produkt - britisches Understatement inklusive. Die Boule-Kugeln sind schwer, liegen gut in der Hand und werden - einzeln in Jute-Säckchen verpackt - zusammen mit einem hölzernen cochonnet ausgeliefert. Alles verpackt in einem repräsentativen Bag, dem auch ein Zirkelband beiliegt, das die Markierung des Ausgangskreises zulässt. Alles macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck, wird aber hier in Deutschland für vergleichsweise kleines Geld verkauft. Wer mit dem Boule-Spiel beginnen will, sollte bei diesem Set sofort zugreifen.

After spending some time in France we had always wanted a boule aka "petanque" set and we saw this one by Jaques of London on Amazon. Jaques has been around for over two hundred years and there's a lot of good reasons for that: the products are durably made, the products are beautifully made, and the customer service is impeccable. We received our set but one of the patterns was duplicated - Jaques quickly and diligently resolved the issue until we had our complete set. After looking over their catalog, we plan to collect many more of the classic games Jaques has been supplying for centuries.

C'est un cadeau de Noël. Je suis très agréablement surprise par le conditionnement. Vraiment très bien présenté.Par ailleurs, les boules n'étant pas trop grosses, mes jeunes pourront jouer en couple. Je suis très satisfaite de cet achat.Toutefois, je dois signaler que ce colis a été reconditionné par La Poste car le carton était en mauvais état.

Amazing product. A really nice set of petanque balls. Really well packaged and beautifully presented, each individual ball came on its own bag and the case is beautiful as well and the handle very practical.All in all, a very well presented product and the balls are of very good quality.I am very satisfied with this purchase.
