HOZELOCK - XL Weeding Cover : Sprayer Accessory, Ideal for Weeding Large Areas [4112P0000]

I used this guard for weeding round plants in boarders and for keeping the edge of the lawn straight.

Ideal for need - no hedge plants dead yet!

Beware, it does not fit old Hozelock sprayers. Even though it the advert says it fits all sprayers I have an old 8 litre Killersprayer the screw end of the nozzle is smaller than the newer ones therefore it does not fit. Apart from that I am sure it would be fine

I lost the cone that came with my sprayer, so ordered this as a replacement. It's even better than the original, because it's a bit larger. We have an allotment, and it's perfect for weedkilling the paths without danger to nearby crops. You need to adjust the nozzle properly, of course, so that it doesn't deliver too much liquid, but once you've got that right, it works perfectly.

I fitted this to my Hozelock garden sprayer by removing the existing jet and replacing it with the weed cone.However the spray pattern did not seem to go directly down onto the weed ,but rather to either side of it. When I examined the jet fitted to the weed cone I found that it was a slot (rather than I round nozzle which was fitted to the original spayer). So the spray patter was to either end of the eliptical cone .I then contacted the Hozelock customer Helpline, but so far haven't resolved the problem. Am I using this wrongly, or have I assembled it wrongly? Has anybody any ideas as to how i can get this to work properly?

Very good at restricting coverage once you have adjusted the mist nozzle. If you don't do this you will get the dripping problems that others report. The cone can be dislodged by contact with stiff plant material but for rough spraying you probably shouldn't need to use it anyway. Made the big job of a large driveway much easier.
