I recently purchased this book and it was an absolute joy to peruse! There are a number of things that I was impressed with and would like to point out:The directions are well organized and thorough.The font and size of the lettering make it easy to read while cutting or sewing.The use of cutting charts makes the blocks much easier to follow than lists, and also makes it perfect for labeling your cuts.In the paper-piecing section, the author does a wonderful job of demonstrating how to paper-piece(with photos) and then provides cutting instructions for each block. Paper-piece pattern pages are provided at the back of the book.One of the things that was such a delight for the eyes was the “up close and personal” look at how this quilt was free motion quilted!This book also provides a lot of versatility. The quilt photographed for the book has a very modern look, but this quilt could just as easily (and successfully) be made with scraps, reproduction fabrics, or coordinated fabric bundles. You could even use just the connecting blocks for a whimsical minimalist quilt.All in all, I highly recommend this book to any individual who loves quilting, but I also encourage guilds and shops to consider using it as a block of the month project.The choices are endless and my mind is reeling with possibilities!

The bulleted points that follow explicitly direct you how this book will accomplish those lofty goals. All of this is based on creating a stunningly beautiful quilt. Every bit of accurate and detailed instructions, block patterns and diagrams will be there for you. Well worth having this book!

This is a beautiful book that is both inspiring and practical. The colors are vibrant and block designs are unique. The instructions are detailed and show all steps with colorful illustrations. I can’t wait to start making blocks either for table toppers or a smaller quilt. This would be a wonderful gift for a quilting friend!

I loved the concept behind this book; it hits home to so many of us. I also appreciated the coloring pages. This book motivates me to try a group project!

I love the instructions for paper piecing and the suggestions and ideas on how to use the blocks. It’s a great resource for any quilter.
