Original Berghaus walking jacket. Tried and tested for over 30 years. Whether you’re tackling a mountain peak or striding out along the coastline, our original Berghaus walking jacket is a big favourite. With GORE-TEX 2L waterproof protection it’s designed to keep every drop of the harshest downpour on the outside. Offering 2-layer breathable fabric and storm-level construction it guarantees you’ll be dry all day long. With performance and comfort at the core, no wonder it’s still a Berghaus must-have.

Superb Gore-Tex Waterproof Jacket.
I've owned this Berghaus Cornice III jacket for around three years and I'm really pleased with the quality and fit.The ability to zip in a Berghaus interactive fleece jacket is a huge bonus and makes this coat a year round favourite of mine. The sizing us very generous, as I'm around a 56 inch chest and the 3XL is just right, even with an interactive (IA) fleece in place.I've never been wet whilst wearing this coat, even whilst walking in a heavy storm and the fleece lining, if fitted, makes it a really warm garment for chilly winter days. The pack away hood is of a good size and the warp knit lined collar makes it comfortable and cosy around the neck. The Gore-Tex, two layer fabric makes the jacket highly breathable if worn on a wet spring day.The inner map pocket is generously sized and the two outer pockets have storm flaps to ensure anything carried, such as a pair of gloves or a smart phone, remain dry.The length of the jacket is good, keeping your thighs dry and the zip can be opened from the bottom allowing more flexibility of movement if required.I paid around £129.00 via Amazon and think this represents excellent value for money.

Stylish and professional quality
I am 6ft and 15stone and if I wanted this jacket for style over purpose, I'd have got a Large but XL fits well with room to fit a zip in fleece over a jumper and t shirt and vest as layering is the best way for hiking in the UK due to the weather. As a breathable and waterproof material, it keeps me warm and dry while never sweating as any persperation is able to leave the body thought the goretex membrane, which is why I would always buy goretex for outdoor pursuits. The jacket is made of a lighter weight material than other more stiff Berghaus goretex jackets that I have or have owned in the past but the build quality is of the usual professional standard and the jacket is clearly hard-wearing with some nice additions like fleece inside the pockets and double flap over the zip to stop any wind or rain from penetrating.Great professional outdoors jacket that I also got at a great price while it was on offer

Amazing coat
This coat is as good as it gets. I have just purchased a second in the Amazon sale at half price for when the original gives up which it must at some point. The original coat has been absolutely hammered for 2 years. Long dog walks in all weathers in the UK every day. Then I spend approx. a third of my time in Northern Germany where I only have a bike for my commutes in all weathers day & night, winter and summer. It's been through some absolutely dreadful weather. Not a single drop of weather has come through and even when cycling the breathability is amazing. A truly amazing coat!

Great value Goretex
Good quality jacket. Decent baffles over the zip to stop rain, double zipper to allow fleece or similar inner garment to be fixed in properly. Good hood with nice deep neck "baffles" to keep rain & wind out. Sleeve length perfect. Early days but waterproofing seems good.Could be a bit better tailored but drawstrings allow sufficient adjustments.183cm/6ft average build & Large seems to fit well.Would be nice to have some more adventurous colour options.

Fabulous quality
I have had my old Bergaus Trango coat for 30 years and it is still going strong. Recently I sent it back to them for some minor refreshment (zip, tape, etc) and it came back looking like new - all free of charge. This is.a brand that puts quality and customer care at the top of the agenda. This new coat is a perfect fit for me - I got the medium and I am 5ft 10.5 ins with a 34 in waist. The size is a generous M - even with fleece, etc underneath it still feels roomy. The breathability is excellent and the fold away hood is superbly designed. I prefer to wear a hat in the rain so the folded away had also doubles as a really effective raised, windproof collar. It is all very nice and snug.I went for the black option - mainly because my old one is purple and green so I wanted a more sober one this time. It does look incredibly smart and can be worn round town as much as on a long walk.I can not recommend Berghaus highly enough and I am so glad I bought from them again this time round after 30 years of good service.

The best berghaus I've owned.
I have quite an extensive collection of berghaus clothing, and I must say this is one of my favourites. It looks really nice on especially with the mid draw cords, and fits really well and true to size. Made from gore tex material so you can pretty much be guaranteed to stay dry in the worst of weather. Paired together with the polartec fleece this is the ultimate winter coat in my opinion. It's a tad heavy for campers in my opinion but for walks and everyday activities its perfect. All in all great value for money as always from berghaus (Apart from their down jackets which are terrible but all down jackets are)

Quality raincoat
Firstly the coat is rainproof and windproof (had a chance to test that today thanks to the British weather!)It is dual layered with an accessible top/bottom zip system allowing you to get to inner garments without having to open up the coat. The rain hood is peaked and in today's downpour kept my face dryIn terms of pockets there are only the 2 at the front which are zipped and have press stud flaps, keeping the contents secure and dry. However these are not large (about the size of a mobile), so if you want to carry anything larger, then maybe look elsewhere. I cannot find any other pockets, so it's just the 2 I'm afraid. (My actual review score would be 4.5/5 for this reason, but all-in-all, I needed a good raincoat and I got one)I'd say at full price, maybe a touch pricey, but if you can get it sale price (around £100 - £120) then it's great value. As for sizing, I'm 5'9" and 12.5 stone with a 43" chest, and the Medium size fits great.
