Plumb-Pak PPF248AMZ Universal Replacement Radiator Cap Push On with Assorted Spindle Drivers

Previous replacements keep popping off. This one works really well and gives a good looking finish

It fits my radiator, in theory, but the knob is so small that it's impossible to get a grip to turn it (the pics make it look bigger than it is). And the knob won't stay on the radiator in any event. The instructions say to give it a tap on top to fix it in place, but that just causes the whole thing to bounce off for me. It's like one of those puzzles you get in a Xmas cracker. Maybe there's some magical way to put it all together to make it work properly, but I can't figure it out, after spending an hour fiddling with it. The instructions refer to a part that didn't appear to be supplied, but I don't think I needed it anyway. So £8 wasted. Off to a local hardware shop to see if they have something, which I should've done in the first place — and you should've done too.

I almost didn't buy this product due to the previous reviews, but as long as your spindle is square or rectangular it should work. The driver disc may need a gentle twist with a screwdriver to prevent it from falling out while you locate it on the spindle. Instead of "tapping" the knob to seat it, I also found that you could just push down firmly. A little expensive, but worthwhile to get the use of a radiator back.

Well for the money these caps are surprisingly small and flimsy. They do work as described and have been useful on several different radiators in our house, where the previous owner had, for some reason, "lost" the original caps. For this reason it gets the 3 stars, but I would suggest looking for either better quality or cheaper versions. If you have no success, then these will do.

I tried to use these to close a radiator valve. The insert keeps falling out and I couldn't close a stiff valve as the small diameter of the cap doesn't give enough grip to free it off. Had to use pliers and abandoned use of this cap. Nice idea but needs larger diameter and better insert securing method.

Plumb-pak PPF248AMZ really did the job!

Bought this to replace a single radiator valve knob as alternatives came in packs of five or more and were therefore more expensive. This has to rank as one of the shoddiest products I ever bought on Amazon, or anywhere for that matter. There were even parts missing relative to the parts list enclosed in the packet. There are lots of sharp edges on the adapter pieces. I have a deep gash on my thumb to prove it. Should have read the reviews on Amazon before ordering.

I needed to do a little metal filing with my Dremel to open up the aperture on one of the several types of metal inserts that come with it. In fairness - they do say that this might need to some. It seems that radiator valves come in endless sizes. It worked so I shouldn’t complain but the plastic feels a little less robust than I would prefer i.e. much lighter than the original that came with the radiator but there might be a good reason for that e.g. to keep the profile small.

Buen producto y funciona muy bien

Manopole molto piccole. Ma a parte questo "non universali" arrivate con due sole ghiere di raccordo identiche (una per ogni manopola) e non con le ghiere assortite descritte nella descrizione e nella foto. Risultato non le ho potute utilizzare. Non le restituisco solo perchè per poco più di10 euro non voglio fare la fila alla posta. Molto deluso da Amazon!

Penso di aver sbagliato acquisto perché per i miei radiatori questa valvola non è compatibile

Aunque el producto trae varios adaptadores para las distintas llaves de radiador, ninguno de ellos encaja con el mío. Además, el diámetro interior también es menor que la parte exterior de mi llave de paso del radiador, por lo que no entra hasta el fondo, de tal manera que ni haciendo "ñapas" la puedo utilizar.Por lo demás, en cuanto al servicio, la entrega y la calidad del producto, no tengo nada negativo que decir.
