Great bit of kit
I had a cheap hand suction pump and it was useless, a friend recommended this to me and I was not disappointed it sucks the oil out so quick and easy with no mess, the different size tubes are handy depending what size your draining from.

No More Crawling Under Your Car
I change the oil in my car which has saved me a lot of money over the years and extended the life of my cars. However it was a job I increasingly dreaded - jacking the car up, crawling under the car on a damp driveway, removing the needless abs plate and then opening the sump screw, dealing with the old oil and then having to reverse the whole process. This vacuum pump is a revelation - far quicker and a fraction of the work! This pump assembles in seconds, easily slips down the oil dipstick tube and after a few pumps begins to suck the oil out. I was concerned that it would not suck all the oil out but the full 4.6 litre capacity of my car was removed in a few minutes. I wish l had this years ago.The pump feels well made and assembles with reassuring tightness. I expect it to last years. From pump assembly to sucking the oil out and changing the filter the whole lot was finished in less than 30 minutes! This is much safer, quicker and cleaner than getting under your car.I am now far more inclined to do oil changes when they are needed rather than putting it off until l absolutely have to change it.I also use the pump on my lawnmower to suck out the old oil as well as sucking out stale petrol after the winter - it’s very handy to have.5 star - strongly recommended.

Worth every penny, best bit of kit I've ever bought for car maintenance.
This has to be the best piece of kit I have ever bought for car maintenance. I've lost count of how many oil changes I've done with this - two changes a year on two cars (and I've had this for 4 changes of car over the years I've had this). An oil, oil filter and air filter change in less than an hour, no ramps, no crawling under the car, no risks, no mess. I've measured the amount of oil extracted against the amount the manuals say the engine holds and its all there. The two tubes supplied have fitted all sizes of dip stick tubes I've encountered and they can also be used to extract the oil from the bottom of the chamber where the oil filter sits, the old oil filter etc. The pump works as well as it did on day one and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do regular oil changes without either paying garage prices or, alternatively, having all the hassle and risk of running a car up ramps, crawling underneath and doing your best to avoid a) scalding yourself on the engine or oil, b) damaging or threading the drain plug, c) missing the oil bucket and d) dropping a car on your head. It's so easy to use that my son, who was 10 when I got this, has been setting the pump up and pressurizing it since day one while I explain the finer points of the internal combustion engine. He hates it.

Easy Oil Change
I initially bought this because I had too much oil in the car engine after a service, I removed almost 1L using the extractor which was easy to set up and did the job quite well in a short amount of time and made an immediate difference in my engines operation.I have also since performed an oil change too, extracting most of the oil, I sucked just over 4 litres out, my engine holds 4.7L, so got most of it. The oil change went quite well, but the suction power seemed to drop off. I had to keep pumping for a while, and the last 500ml or so was a struggle as the unit was losing pressure somewhere, though to be honest, I am not sure if this was due to the unit having a problem or the fact that there was almost no more oil left to suck out.The unit was also handy when disposing of the used oil, I took along to the local council recycling centre, popped the included nozzle on the bottle and just poured the oil into the recycling drum, wiped it clean and stored it in a plastic bag for another use later in the year.I would recommend the unit for anyone looking to do an oil change without the mess or need to get under the car; I did not replace my oil filter, this was done on the last service about six months ago, so I will let the mechs do this again when I take the car in for a service.Overall, I am pleased with the Sealey TP696 as it has made having an interim oil change so much cheaper than taking it to the local lube shop.

Should have got one years ago
Was always a bit mistrustful of sucking oil out through dipstick hole so used to do oil changes the messy way on our cars. Decided as I got a bit older I didn't like crawling under cars and getting oil all over myself and the driveway and decided to buy one of these a couple of years ago. When I first used it I measured the oil that came out of car carefully and seemed it had got it all ( it helps that our driveway slope down so front of engine lower than rear ) - now change oil once a year and filter every second year on several cars and can do it and stay pretty clean. Also used it to extract old front fork fluid on motorbikes and again, it gets most of it out - much easier than taking half the front of bike apart. Also used when plumbing to empty radiators and pipes as well as sucking water out of any tray i put under pipework ( when it gets too full and looks like overflowing ) - can be used anywhere you need to remove pretty much any fluid from anything, so paid for itself many times over so far. This unit is very sturdy and well made, you just have to remember to warm oil before sucking out and also to hold the pump body with one hand while pumping with the other ( otherwise the pump can pull out, it is only pushed into rubber seal ).
