Convert an E27 light socket to a GU10 socket easily with this instant fit converter.

Does what it is meant to!
This is a simple Light Bulb (mainly) Adaptor that enables the use of a GU10 fitted Lightbulb on an E27 or ES (standard diameter) Screw Light Fitting. This also means that the transformation is temporary and easily reversable, if you simply remove the Adaptor to return to the E27 / ES Screw set-up.The only downside that usually becomes evident, is that the bulb fitted with the adaptor will project from the original fitting by the length of the adaptor. This may be significant in cases where this might also result in the Bulb not fitting in an enclosed Lampshade, or in protruding and be more than you would like visible in an open fitting. Choosing a smaller (in size) bulb should solve this problem. For example, on a table lamp that used to use a standard bulb you could replace this with a smaller Golfball or Candle of the same rating. This, of course, if such a problem does arise, but, also, if a smaller bulb does exist on the market! In most cases this physical extension should not be an issue. The Adaptor works as well as is expected for such a simple item and is firmly recommended where such an adaptation is required.

Useful adapter for E27 screw spotlamps
IMHO the GU10 LED Spots with 27 or so Superbright LED's make much more effective Spots with good beam spread and acceptable warm white light than those I have found available in E27 Format (and are also less expensive) So I have been using these adapters to replace the old tungsten reflectors used in several Spotlamps around the House with the GU10 LED spotlights. So far they seem to work fine and I have not experienced any problems having been using them for about 11 months. But note they are plastic so while they are great for LED GU10's I would not recommend using them with 50W Tungsten GU10's which get very hot and will almost certainly melt or degrade the plastic base over time.

Amazon should make their suppliers provide safety information like this.
It's OK BUT ... this product MUST NOT be used with halogen lamps. The heat from such lamps melts the plastic on the converter and the bulb falls out, as I found to my cost. No warning on the product information, but if I had read the customer Q&As I would have seen that another customer had provided this information. Amazon should make their suppliers provide safety information like this.

Useful and will buy more from this seller
I can use 5watt led bulbs with these. I've used these to convert a desk light and my outside lights which I didn't want to change the whole unit. These did the job and incidentally,LED bulbs turn on to immediate brightness even outside in the cold.Be detailed and specific. What would you have wanted to know Make it fun! Who says you can't be informative and entertaining? How about a little action? If it makes sense, cut to the product in use as you describe your experiences with it.before you purchased the product?

Can now use the GU10 LEDs as "spot lights" in screw sockets
These little converters mean that you can use GU10 bulbs (LEDs in my case) in the large screw sockets (E27).Because most GU10 bulbs are shorter than normal bulbs the length of the adapter brings the front of the LED bulb to roughly the same place as before. They seem nicely made with a good solid feel to the white bit, not like some other adapters (screw to bnc) I've seen that are more "plasticy".A "pack of five" with a lower unit price would be good though.

Not quick delivery
Bought a new uplighter lamp that takes an ES bulb, got plenty GU10 led bulbs at my disposal, but after waiting more than a week for this simple convertor I went out & bought an ES bulb. When the package arrived after approx two & half weeks, the pack contained 5 of these convertors for the total sum of £1.25 inc p&p! If not a mistake, an extreme bargain. Looks like a quality product.

Does the job!
I bought this useful product to test if it would work in some old screw thread spotlights we have, which used the incandescent spotlight bulbs that use a lot of electricity. This little gadget lets you replace power hungry bulbs with slightly better halogen versions, or in my case MUCH better LED versions, and it does the job no problem. The price isn't bad, but it would need to be a bit cheaper before I replace all my bulbs.

It works
I've only had this for a short time, but what more can I say? It works OK - so far.I got some GU10 LED bulbs a while ago and this lets me make use of them in a versatile way. I have a lamp that won't accept a CFL bulb, because it's too fat to go in the body of the holder. This neat little device solves that problem. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it's yet to prove itself over time. But I won't hesitate to buy more of them if I find a use for them.
