1/ thick plastic2/ the lamp is not bad for salads and greens3/ The light control is inconvenient, it needs to be improved, although it can be used.4/ Well stocked5/ well pure sponges (from other sellers they are often infected with fungi)

This thing is great it came with everything you need start minus the seeds. I use a different nutrient than what came in the box. It's super quiet and has a few different light modes. The only thing I don't like are the grow sponges that came with it. When they get wet they get too tall and stick out of the pods. Unlike the aerogarden and another off brand hydroponic system I have the sponges sit completely inside the plastic pod. I would definitely buy this one again.

I really like these units, but germination is so slow, or nonexistent. Water has a tremendous heat capacity, and summer indoors means air conditioning so the water stays at room temperature. I ordered some heating mats, which I will need this winter anyway, and hope some stubborn seeds will finally sprout.

This is a simplistic set up compared to more expensive types. The unit offers a light timer, but it’s limited in its functionality. You can set it for 12, 14, or 16 hours and it will turn on and off the same time every day, depending on when you set it. That is good since it creates a faux sun rising and setting effect to provide adequate light for plant growth. The longer lighting timeframe always works best for my indoor plants, so the lack of light duration so far hasn’t been an issue of concern. The pump is quieter than some of my other units, so that is a plus. I’m growing spoon and cherry tomatoes and so far, this unit is doing a great job.

We planted seeds on Sunday evening and already have some sprouts on Tuesday morning. Very easy to set up except for resetting the timer.
