Bought this as a replacement for a dualit toaster that died, we find it toasts very quickly but sometimes the bread is still soft in the middle. Large warburtons bread will only toast 2/3 of the slice. Good for crumpets and tea cakes as slots are wide. Just hope it lasts longer than the dualit (9months).

Just what I expected and wanted

The reason for three stars has nothing to do with how it works - it works brilliantly! The reason has to do with the feel of quality. The stainless surround is very flimsy and the toaster is very light (weight). It was not very expensive but had we known it was going to feel this way from a quality point of view then we would not have bought it.However, as I mentioned before there is nothing wrong with how it works and the rear trays that collects the bread crumbs are great.Had it been a sturdier I would have given it 5 stars. I would happily have paid £5-10 more for the feel.

I like this toaster - it seems faster than my old one (although that one was VERY old), and has nice wide slots to allow you to toast a variety of things. The lifters bring the bread up quite high, so you can retrieve crumpets and other smaller items quite easily. The springs are bit on the strong side though - if you're just toasting one slice it almost launches out the top! The timers seem to be pretty accurate too - if you have both pairs of slots in use on the same setting, they will pop up at exactly the same time. Also, lots of cord storage options in the bottom of the toaster so you can get the length exactly right.I only have two criticisms: (1) the black mark on the black knob is a bit difficult to see when setting the toasting time - a white marker would have been nice, and (2) the crumb tray is removed from the back of the toaster, meaning you have to move the whole toaster out to clean it - in a small kitchen this can be a pain.
