Nice but heavy
It’s a very nice set but is very heavy for daily use. It definitely has a statement when you set the table but for every day use I don’t like it

These are my favorite dishes of all time!
This stoneware dish set is absolutely perfect for our rustic luxury designed home. They are stunning, sturdy and quite the conversation starter. :) There is a little saying on the back of each dish which is a very personal touch that brings a smile to all who read them. We love these a lot and many quests have commented they want them, too.

Scratches like mad
These are great if you aren't going to actually use them. All of my plates and bowls look like road maps with scratches everywhere. I bought 3 packages of each and basically just threw my money away.

Cheap looking
To me, these are kind of cheap looking. I am used to the expensive Mississippi pottery by Good Earth and Etta B. I thought I would try something more plain and simple but this just isn't going to be it. I didn't plan on using it to eat on, I just set my table for looks but I am putting my Good Earth back on it and getting this off. It looks like I found it at Wal Mart......and thank you so much Amazon for putting this all the way on the very bottom of the reviews. I just sent it in and went through 50 five star reviews before I found it. I will never submit another review again. Mine was 100% truthful but since it wasn't positive, it got shuffled all the way to the bottom.

Beautiful Plates - Useless Mugs
The plates and bowls are beautiful, however the handle-less “mug” is useless as a mug or cup. Too hot to handle for hot drinks, too small for cold drinks.

Great statement pieces, but not durable long-time
I spent months trying to find the perfect, unique dinnerware and I thought I had found it with these Mercer Project pieces. They are sturdy, beautiful, look great, can withstand the force of being dropped. I've had these for the last 6 months and I wanted to get some real use in before writing a review. If you want beautiful, long-lasting durable plates and bowls...these are not going to be your guys. The first issue is that they scratch incredibly easy. If you're very careful with the way you eat or never actually cut your food on the plate or in the bowl then you can avoid scratches, however regular use - these are getting scratched up unless you eat incredibly delicately. And again, if you're simply using a fork to cut an egg in half with your breakfast...you're scratching these. If you're cutting a piece of meat...you're scratching these. And the scratches are very visible and ruin the look of the dinnerware.Secondly, because they are stone this dinnerware is LOUD against silverware. If you're sensitive to the noise of scraping then you'll hate having these. This isn't your typical silverware noise, it's a lot more 'nails against a chalkboard' kind of scraping sound because of the stoneware. I've worked in the food and bev industry in restaurants for year and I personally didn't think it would be that bad based on other reviews I saw. However, the scraping of silverware against this stoneware (when I'm using it, not when someone else) does make me uncomfortable.I've seen other reviews mention that because the plates don't have a lip that sauces can run off the plate, which can be true, but I'm just aware of how I place and plate food and avoid that issue.Overall, these are gorgeous and look so freaking good, but they're not designed to last except as showpieces or something you're very careful using when you eat - and good food should not be enjoyed cautiously for fear of scratching dinnerware. If you're really set on getting these, you've been warned. But I would look elsewhere if you have the option. I'm currently shopping for new dinnerware.

Not a full set
The dishes are amazing, but I only got half of my order. I bought a 32 piece set and they only sent me 16.
