Teng T1424 1/4-inch Socket Set Metric Drive (24 Pieces)

Great little set of 1/4 drive all you need in a small set in my work bag

This is a nice little socket set, the lid folds flat and comes in handy for keeping the bolts and nuts you've removed. I took out the plastic tray so I can keep a couple of extra extension bars in there. Its been rattling about in my tool box for over a year, I use it all the time and i'm very happy with it.

I have a Teng set purchased years ago and the quality has only marginally decreased since that time. I am confident this set will last as long as required.

Well made and fitting sockets as I've come to expect from Teng, but let down a bit by the ratchet driver. It feels a little bit 'course' and 'rough' in it's action - as if it's not been packed by grease or something. It can probably be easily fixed by taking it apart and lubricating it and it certainly isn't bad enough to be worth sending back. However, it came out of the factory like that and why should I have to?! I've got a 1/2 inch Teng torque wrench that is all metal and has a far better action than it's tiny cousin, so maybe they've cut corners just because it's smaller?I also find that I personally don't like the feel of the 'fibre' handle and would have preferred a fully metal one. It's more than strong enough, but it just feels 'cheap' and can't be wiped down properly if it gets greasy.Having said that, it's brilliant for getting into really tight spots around a motorcycle or car and the ratchet mechanism is fine enough to make it useful to undo fasteners in tight spots. It's not as good as my Britool 3/4 inch driver, but that did cost as much as this whole set, so on the whole it's not bad value but I'd probably have bought the Britool 1/4 inch set in hindsight.

Another Great Teng Tool. Its very compact and for a 1/4 driver set has all the most popular sizes You need. I keep this in My glove box for those quick jobs that come up.

Conosco la marca d tempo ed ho avuto modo di apprezzare qualità assoluta anche con altri set. Precisi, robusti e pratici hanno qualità di mooooolto superiore ad altri marchi magari più conosciuti. Adatti per un uso professionale ma anche per hobbista più esigente, vi saranno utili per anni ed anni senza mai cedere, perdere di precisione o perdere la finitura.

I have several socket sets and purchased this 1/4 Drive metric one because I’ve heard good things about teng. The ratchet is large for a 1/4 inch, but not bulky feeling. I really like teng sockets, both the shape and the finish. I haven’t had the set long enough to comment on durability but it feels very solid. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the course action (45 teeth I believe). It limits use in tight places somewhat. Otherwise, it’s a great set in a nice case.
