I've used these a few times with a log burner. They're quite easy to crumble up and light very easily, making the job of lighting a fire very quick and simple. They don't seem to produce much of a smell or leave any residue that I've noticed. So they must burn quite cleanly. I found using a couple of these, a bit of kindling and a couple of split logs and a match, I could get a fire going in a couple of minutes without any hassle. The box they come in makes them handy to transport as well. Making them easy to take to a holiday cottage.I find them much better than the awful white BBQ style firelighters that stink of chemicals and can leave a residue. I'm sure the fact that these are just wood chippings and wax means that they're less toxic to people and the environment as well. Although not lighting fires would be better still I guess.

I decided to try these as the price was great for 200, I would highly recommend them. They light easily enough and are very dense so burn long enough to catch even quiet large pieces of kindling. As mentioned in another review they can take a minute to light but really no problem, I use one of those long bendy lighters so no problem and if you are using a match just ball up some news paper. Works great in my log burner.

They’re good and I like the fact there’s not the overpowering smell you get with traditional firelighters.However, I have to use two rather than one.That may just be me, but I find one is not strong enough to get a fire going.

I'm a fan of eco firelighters and until now I've been using the 'wood wool' type (of which there are several brands on Amazon) but got fed up of how messy they are, unravelling and shedding shavings of wood all over the place. These solve the problem completely. They look like small discs of thick chipboard and hold together completely. They may take a few seconds more to light than the wood wool but burn very well and I find I only use 2 to light a stove so the 500 box will last a very long time. Thoroughly recommended.

Impressed with these. Recently bought a new wood burning stove and these little chaps get the fire going with no trouble. Best firelighters Ive come across. Good value, well packaged and delivery very quick. Whats not to like?

Purchased 3 times. First time they were brilliant. Second time a few crumbled. 3rd time most of them crumbled! The full ones do there job but its frustrating that you dont get a fully functioning boxfull.

We bought these firelighters has we have a woodburner that is used constantly. We have bought various firelighters before but these are by far the best we've bought. We found that one or two is enough to light the fire, depending how big your woodburner fire is, so they are economical to use. They light easy and burn long enough to get the fire started. They are a firm consistency with no smell. Will definitely buy these again.

Does exactly what they promise, no fuss and very effective. Decent price also for the number that you get in the box.
