Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed this book! The author presents the information concisely and effectively and backs it up with scientific research. I also love that it’s like a guide book comprised of short chapters rather than a giant, intimidating tome that feels like a chore to get through. I found all the chapters very helpful, particularly those on avoiding weight gain and changing diet. Like many women I know, I assumed I was a slave to my hormones and had little control over the menopause-related changes to my mind and body. I am unable to take HRT, so I figured I would just have to suffer until my hormones leveled off later in life. Not so! This book has really inspired me to make some relatively simple lifestyle changes and I’m already noticing a difference. I definitely recommend this book to anyone experiencing confusion or helplessness around menopause.

Hope and motivation renewed
Jane has researched the research and then presents it in a way that's understandable and usable. Chapter by chapter the research backed solutions are identified. I now understand why I should quit chasing the quick fixes that have never worked and left me with dashed hopes. I find the knowledge here very motivating. Chapter 21 is priceless! Brennan 's reading and voice is a pleasure to listen to but I will be purchasing a hard copy book because this is a tool that I will come back to again and again when my motivation needs tweaking.

A Very Unique Book About a Common Subject
I am a big fan of Jane Thurnell-Read's books!Once again Jane has written a book, this time for menopausal women and weight loss that gives a scientific background. In addition to practical information and ideas about the different aspects of menopause, she writes about how we can actually help ourselves through the process, in order to alleviate symptoms and be our best selves during challenging times and feelings.This is a different kind of book written by someone who has researched carefully and shared her findings with us in an easy-to-read book!

Fabulous and Handy Guide Book
I love this handy guide book! I haven't finished it yet but I particularly like the fact that it's written in bite-sized chunks / topics so that it's easy to understand and the suggestions are easy to implement.Some of the suggestions in the book may go against things you read elsewhere, but that's fine with me. I wouldn't need the book if I could find the information elsewhere. Lots of great leads to other sources, which is probably why it's taking me a while to finish the book.

Menopause can be a challenge, but a healthier and happier life is not out of reach. Thanks to Jane’s great research on the topic ,many questions about menopause are answered in a non technical way. It is easy to read and covers a lot of topics. The author motivates you to live a healthy lifestyle so that menopause symptoms can be reduced enough to live a happier life. I certainly recommend it!

Real results based off real research!
A lot of books talk a lot but don't actually help you get results. This book is researched (with articles) but is more than just academic. It gives you ways to get real results, and not just learn about what is going on. Jane gives real answers to how to fix what is going on and help you live a better life!

Awesome book
This is an amazing book. At age 52 I was experiencing so much confusion about menopause and its symptoms and side effects. Until I read Jane's book. I feel so normal now! I follow her advice and feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I highly recommend this book to anyone experiencing peri-menopause or menopause.

Easy to read - Great information
This is an easy to read book with down to earth information addressing many myths about menopause. The author guides the reader through easy to follow advise on eating, exercising, sleep and general wellness to address menopause symptoms with common sense information backed by evidence. The reader is given the opportunity to really self analyze their daily habits to understand how they are contributing to changes they may be experiencing in life. Thurnell-Read introduces and shares a variety of resources and links throughout the book. Highly recommend reading this book to anyone who is entering this stage of life, as a lot of information is condensed into a well formatted easy to read book.

Really complete and easy to understand
As a doctor, I will tell my patients that are in pre-menopause or menopause to read this book. Is full of good practical advices, well explained and backed by science. You can easily try to do what the author suggests... and I am sure you will not just improve menopause-related problems but also your general health and wellbeing level.

Menopause manual
This is another easy to read and understand book by Jane. As we all know, menopause is an important time in every woman’s life and even though the signs and symptoms of this transitional period are well known, help and support is not always easily found. Even though there are medical options like various forms of HRT available, not all women wish to take hormone replacements. Unfortunately majority of doctors or GPs are not familiar with options from complementary medicine either. Jane has put together an invaluable manual for women which addresses issues like weight gain, hot flushes, insomnia and mood swings. Her book is very well researched and suggests simple changes in every day eating habits, recommends exercises and specific supplements, all well and clearly described and explained. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to understand and treat numerous issues perimenopause and menopause brings to lots of women. Better understanding and support from well educated medics and therapists is definitely needed and here is this invaluable book, full of great advise and little tips.

Great information
There was a lot of good information in this book, I've been feeling a little lost due to the changes happening to me and haven't any doctors that helpful. The explanation of the symptoms that can happen has been reassuring. I have started to make changes to my diet and have been exercising more which is certainly helping me physically, emotionally and mentally. Thank you Jane
