You will learn more from the help window that pops up when you open any of the applications than you will by reading this entire book. Absolute beginners may find it slightly helpful. By absolute beginners I mean someone who has never ever used any type of design software in their entire life. You could get a lot more on the Adobe website or Youtube in a fraction of the time for free. The part that really stuck me was that even the example projects they have you do are very unattractive.
