It was easy to put up... because my step-son did it! ;-) However, yes, I can see that he found no difficulty whatsoever with drilling the wall and putting it up. The line is thinner than I expected...but I used it this afternoon with no problem. I put a curtain and three towels on it with a top and some underwear....all looked fine to me. I used a prop too...just to ensure that nothing was going to drag on the ground.

Not yet used as I hoped the holes to drop over the screws already in the wall from a very similar looking Vileda clothes line would match up - they don't. So the back plate was removed and replaced by the the old back plate from the old Vileda line. Not a fault - just a bit irritating that there's no consistency across the small range of clothes lines of this type, even though this line otherwise looks exactly like my old one. Looks sturdy enough - will update this post after it has been 'clothe tested' a few times.

Just what I needed !!

I was sceptical about getting a retractable washing line after having a conventional fixed line for many years.This was easy to install and sturdy. As with any retractable lines, the washing line can 'droop' with heavier items. Overall, good item and would recommend.

Having bought two of these so that I had plenty of drying line, I am very disappointed that within only using a dozen times both are broken. The fact that it winds up was the greatest attraction for me so I don’t have a permanent washing line up. However even though I was careful to keep hold of the line when it retracted, they have both wrapped round the outside edge of the reel and got stuck. There’s no way to undo the mechanism to be able to free it. I ended cutting the line to release it and now it’s too short. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

This is the third one of these I’ve had to buy. The cable gets frayed with use and rather than find another solution I just re-buy this to save drilling new holes in the outside wall and faffing about installing a new one. The rewind locking mechanism is ok but not brilliant.

The body of this clothes line split into two after 3 years 8 months use. This seems reasonable to me, so I have bought an identical replacement. Generally pleased with this item.

The media could not be loaded.  Great product. Sturdy and easy to use.
