Just wow!
Stupid story but I was trying to secure an umbrella on a roof deck. I was hoping to avoid a 10-foot umbrella Mary Poppins its way over the neighborhood. I’d considered regular nylon zip ties but was concerned that they might degrade in direct sunlight. These steel straps are incredibly strong, show no signs of rust after a season and were a perfect solution. They were easy to use and cut with tin snips. Glad I bought a bunch because I’m sure to have other uses for them.

Super-strong, specialized product
These are exactly what you need for long-term repairs, strengthening, etc. Plastic zip ties eventually break down in the sun, but these won't. You get 20, which is more than enough for this suburban homeowner. At about $0.70 each, they're not expensive for what you get.RECOMMENDED.

They worked great!
Worked as they should

Duct Tape has a new rival
I've heard Duct Tape referred to as liquid metal, but I think that title should belong to these lil' beauties. Another item I had no idea existed until I saw these. I must admit, I'm probably being a little stingy with them, sorta like the "sponge worthy" Seinfeld, but they've been holding my muffler on "temporarily" for six months with no sign of stopping any time soon.

Great for securing items exposed to UV rays and/or extremely cold temperatures...
I used several of these to secure items exposed to the sun... I had used heavy duty UV rated nylon zip ties previously and those deteriorated after a year after sun exposure during the summer months and sub-zero temps in the harsh Minnesota winter. These are sturdy and hopefully will not rust. So far, so good...

The guy in the picture must be 7FT tall! LOL
Use these to hold exhaust wraps on natural gas industrial stationary engines. Very effective and hold up to the elements a lot better than stainless mechanics wire with 1500+ degree exhaust heat.

Great tie wrap for rough duty applications
I’ve used conventional nylon tie wraps for decades with great success. However, there are some particularly difficult use cases where these stainless steel tie wraps excel, including:- high temperatures (auto exhaust systems)- outdoor (sun exposure degrades nylon tie wraps over time)- long term use (stainless steel will not brittle with age like nylon)I was quite impressed with the versatility of these 304 grade stainless steel tie wraps. The nearly 40” length allows them to be used on large diameters. While I have no way to measure the tensile strength or break point, they seem as strong and sturdy as the description implies. The locking end has an automatic clasp system which allows the free end to be inserted but not easily removed. Any unwanted length beyond the clasp can be easily clipped with diagonal pliers or even scissors. I found using small needle nose pliers to slightly fold the remaining edge after clipping both mitigated the sharpness of the edge and prevented the tie wrap from loosening over time.Overall, this is a great item for a very fair price.

Perfect so far to lock in a catalytic converter shield
I got these with one initial purpose in mind, strapping down a loose heat shield over the top of the catalytic converter on my 18 year old Honda. The bolts holding the shield are fine, but the shield itself corroded away enough I couldn't get it to stay put. The strap went around the odd shape the cat and shield presented very well (being a cable), and I tugged it tight using pliers to be snug but not super tight to not crush anything. After a few weeks it's holding up fine under the high heat and assume it will outlast the remaining life of the car.A few notes (nothing too surprising):- These are tighten only (no release) just like a plastic zip tie- A bit hard to get started, but once going easy to get tight- The strap is thin material so by nature sharp especially after cutting (wear gloves / use care)- These would not cut with wire cutters, but small tin snips worked great to snip the excessVery practical but you need to use little more care than usual zip ties to avoid a cut.
