Wonderfully relaxing
It's just a foam mat with plastic spikes but it is wonderfully relaxing.I bought this and the pillow as a substitute for massage therapy during the pandemic. I tried it for the first time and although it's a bit weird getting on to a cactus mat, once settled it was incredibly relaxing. The spikes are very spiky (I can't comfortably stand on them barefoot quite yet) but don't damage the skin and are very comfortable wearing a t-shirt as recommended to start with. I set a timer for 10mins as I thought I might not manage to stay put but when the timer sounded I didn't want to move. This is an expensive mat but after reading reviews by others who tried out a pricey mat then bought a cheaper one and were disappointed it is worth it. The mat is well-packaged and comes with a storage bag. It seems well made and the colour (green) is quite restful too.I'm assuming this works in two ways; firstly the spikes are mildly irritating to the skin which increases blood flow and hence heat (plus the heat absorbed in the plastic spikes and foam) which helps relax muscles; secondly, just lying down and breathing slowly for 10 mins is probably good for anyone to relax a bit.

Never thought i'd review a bed of nails ;)
Good product, helps with relaxation & mild anxiety. You get out of this what you put in, if you take the time to build into your nightly routine then you will see some benefits. Comes with a handy storage carry bag, light & takes up no space at all. I was able to lie on it 1st time without the recommended t shirt.

Bedtime is now really relaxing
It's early days so I can't comment on a lot of the bed of nails claims but I can say that for relaxation and back ache it is brilliant. I've been laying on it every night in bed for anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes, sometimes longer. The first day I got it I couldn't stop laying on it all day long because it just feels so good. It makes me very relaxed and it doesn't hurt, it's uncomfortable for a minute or 2 then it's actually really pleasant. I've also noticed now that I've used it for a little while it doesn't take as long for the uncomfortable feeling to subside. There was one night where I didn't use it because it was very late and I was so tired and the next morning my back was hurting, the dull ache I used to be so familiar with. So I think this must be doing something for my back. I'm excited to see long term benefits of the mat. I'll update this review after a few months with news of any other benefits that arise but so far I really love my bed of nails, it's helped me to finally create a relaxing bedtime routine that I desperately needed.

Pricier than some on the market but a great product all the same.
Great product if not a little pricey compared to other brands that offer the same for nearly half the price. In terms of packaging, It came in a professional looking box with window about 2 inches squared. This is so you can see the colour of the mat. You also get a bag with shoulder straps to carry it in. This is quite handy and it fits perfectly.Regarding the mat itself, you will either love it or really dislike it. It may look uncomfortable at first glance, it may feel uncomfortable but after about 5mins you will wonder what you were soo scared about. Actually after 5mins your back will start to get warmer, that's when you know it's working.I used it on the floor but it can be used on the bed or sofa. I just prefer the floor as I feel you get the full effect.

I'm surprised to say... It works!
Well well well, I've had this oddity for about 4 months now and initially I was very sceptical but I've suffered with bouts of depression since the death of my husband and cocked up my back big time after our daughters birth SO was desperate for a brake. To start with I nearly returned it as it was too uncomfortable but I persevered with it now I canlay on it and fall asleep!!! You get a heck of a rush from it and I sleep very soundly if I use it before bed. You must give it a chance though so you can relax enough and not feel in pain. I haven't used it regularly as I only use it to relax me. But I think I'm going to try it daily. Give it a go, it does make you feel good. Those natural drugs, your endorphins are very powerful things!

Seems overpriced but does the job!
Learned about this via Bulletproof Exec who sells a similar, even more overpriced product. The mat is pretty much spiky plastic discs sewed onto foam, how it's so expensive, I have no idea. Bulletproof calls it a sleep induction mat but I'd be scared to sleep on it for more than a nap. It's quite painful to start with but good to relieve stress when I come home from work. I presume it works by causing just enough pain where you think, "Actually, that email I got today wasn't so bad"!

Not for wimps!
Not bad and does seem to help a bit but I don't think it would help any really serious or deep tissue damage. That said, once you get used to it, it is very relaxing and definitely increases blood flow to your back. I enjoy using it - now that I've got used to it. It does not come with any sort of carrying case and is hand wash only.

Love it
Really great item, is helping my pain in lockdown. Good replacement for massage right now, a really pleasant feel good releif. Takes a little getting used to but well worth the effort and pays for itself (instead of massage) in just a couple of sessions. I’ve also got the pillow, really nice combo. Excellent customer service from BON team, Jessica in particular. Really happy with my purchase thanks
