Great choice for legacy dimmer switches that are incompatible with LED equivalent bulbs
I needed replacement bulbs for a twin halogen uplighter and reading light (a "father & child" light, as people like to call them), and ended up getting these. I'd been minded to make the switch to LED bulbs, since they are a lot more economical, run a bit cooler, have a longer life, and seemed like a far better option. BUT, read on before you rush to check out LEDs! Basically, if your lamp presently uses dimmable incandescent bulbs, it is unlikely to be compatible with LEDs. The next bits tells you why, but feel free to skip the "science" if you want to! I just looked into it because was really hoping to switch to LEDs.The father-child lamps we use (we have two) are both dimmer switched, and even if you get dimmer-compatible LED bulbs they will usually not work well with dimmer lamps that presently use halogen bulbs. The reason for this is that a dimmer switch works by only allowing part of the electrical current through to the bulb, and does this by chopping away either the start or end of the current's cycle (AC - alternating current - operates in a sine wave above and below a zero point, and the dimmer either chops off the start or the end of each up and down wave). A full on light has the full sine-wave passing through, a very dimmed one has barely anything - just little spikes of current keeping the bulb alight (it's also why dimmer lights may "sing" or hum). Dimmable LED bulbs generally want the sinewave to be chopped from the opposite end, and require a different dimmer circuit to allow this. If they don't have a "trailing edge dimmer" feeding current to them, and instead have a "leading edge dimmer" as used by incandescent bulbs, they will begin to flicker at the dimmer end of their light range. Search online for "led dimmer switch compatability" and you should find some diagrams quite quickly.Faced with chucking away our lamps, we decided instead to stay with halogen and began digging around for good deals, settling on this pack of compatible bulbs. We've not yet burned one out, although with a decent stock of spares that's not quite as inconvenient as it used to be. They come nicely packaged in individual cardboard boxes and the bulbs also have a plastic sheath around them that will help when you are fitting the bulbs - since even a little bit of finger grease will allow hotspots to form on the glass and shorten the bulb's life. Obviously once the bulb is securely pushed in, you remove the plastic sheath! All the above is relevant for dimmable lamps. If you are looking for bulbs for an ordinary on/off application then you could find LED equivalents to these. They will be more expensive but will last a great deal longer. For dimmable lamps, though, you'll need to check what type of dimmer circuit your lamp uses, and if it is a "leading edge dimmer", or the lamp is a few years old and unlikely to dim LED bulbs properly, then these are a great cost-effective option.

Great value light pack, seems good quality
Great value lights. Have only used a couple and have the rest as backup. But they fitted easily and offer a non flickering bright light. No failures so far a couple of months in.

Good price
Have ordered these bulbs a couple of times now. The price is good. The only thing with them is that they don't last as long as the older style ones.

G9 25W halogen bulbs - great value
Low price compared to the high street, all of the bulbs used work. If you handle the bulb either wear gloves or clean each bulb with Methylated spirits / IPA afterwards. The slightest fingerprint will cause premature failure.

Extremely poor quality , don't buy
This was my 3rd buy. Same product lasting only days and most few months. Initially thought there is a problem in our voltage, but nothing found. Very poor quality, changing every few days. Decided to buy proper LED ones. Almost 20 quids gone down the drain!!

Bright and clear
Ordered a set of these to replace some that had blow in some light we bought from Argos and the bulbs worked as they should but within 1-2 days a few popped I since replaced them with others from pack and have been working great. This may have been an issue with light or with the bulbs but there working now overall happy with the bulbs
