Blackout Buddy - Portable Blackout Blinds/Curtain for Home and Travel (Regular)

This is a good product. At first I had real difficulty getting the sticky velcro pads to stay on my window. I don't know what I've now done differently, but they have stayed in place for a few months. This is because they have remained in place though, and I wouldn't say they would withhold constant sticking and re-sticking of the blind. As for the actual blackout capabilities it does really rather well. Unfortunately it doesn't cover my hole window so light does still seep through in places, but where the blind is in place, no light gets through at all.BE WARNED: The blind can lead to a big build up of condensation around the window in winter months. If you are leaving it in place like me, make sure you take it down every now and again and wipe round the window sill to avoid mould and mildew developing.

This is a thick plastic sheet with velcro sewn around the edge and a set of velcro stickers.You can't cut down the size without having to sew on some new velcro so this needs to be the same size as your window.if you get it to seal the window then it does a very good job, blackening out a room in daylight and at night you can't see your hand in front your face.The downside is that the velcro stickers don't stick very well so in the few days i've had this it's fallen down and i've had to re-stick the velcro pads. The solution might be to buy some better velcro pads or to attach some other way.Lastly, when you take the plastic out of the package it smells of plastic quite strongly. This lasted about 3 days and now i can't smell it. Just be careful if using this in a kids room until the vapours have subsided.I might continue to try with this but now i've seen the product i may look out for a cloth based one that will not be so heavy and not be smelly.

This is a great product and something I've been looking for for a while.I work nights and now that it's getting lighter in the mornings this is a perfect. I usually get to bed at around 7am and have been using eye masks for over a year but found them to be a bit of a nuisance sometimes and can be prone to coming off.I don't understand why this got such bad reviews. It literally took me less than 5 minutes from taking it out of box to putting it up. The longest part was pulling the back off the sticky tabs. After putting it up, my room is pitch black and I've had no troubles with it whatsoever. Yes the velcro tabs can come off when you pull on it too hard but they stick straight back on with no trouble at all.Now I have a great sleep every time without having to worry about eye masks etc.Brilliant product. AMAZING product. I work as a Paramedic and do lots of night shifts. I have recently moved house to the brightest room I have ever been in which makes it impossible to sleep during the day! I purchased the blackout buddy after reading some reviews and I am really pleased with my purchase. You receive some sticky velcro circles that you stick to the surface that you want the blind ( I stuck mine to the outer plastic edge of the window). The curtain is edged in black velcro which you then stick to the circles (as easy as that!!). It doesn't matter what size your window is as you can fold the fabric so that it fits , for example my window is a little smaller than the blind so a portion of the fabric has folded inwards.Brilliant for blocking out light, pretty much pitch black. Great material and wonderful value for money. Will be recommending to colleagues and anyone interested.

Just received blackout buddy - It is actually good quality soft plastic, possibly with a fabric base... I ordered 'large' as my windows are 160 CM high, on the inner wooden frame, outside of the UPvc double glazed part...The actual width of the sheet is 133CM wide with 50CM Velcro stitched on all around. If you are good at using a sewing machine, it should be easy enough to cut to size and stitch on more velcro..

Bought this as I work nights and found myself waking up because it was daylight, needed to block it out. The blind itself is good quality and does what it's supposed to do, however I'd recommend measuring your window first as it doesn't fit all the way across mine, BUT does block out most of the light, so I am happy with it.Delivery was quick and easy, also DID come with adhesive Velcro pads !!

i have a sloping small window with no existing blind so thought I would take a chance on this product, I put it up in the afternoon attaching a few of the Velcro stickers to the surrounding wall as the material is much to large, during the night it fell down, all of the stickers came off the wall. I do not recommend If you have a skylight or sloping window, if the material was the same size as the window maybe it would work better.

The blind itself works great. Once it is up the room is completely dark.However the blind can't be cut to size as the soft half of the velcro is already around the edge. I also have to keep sticking it up as the glue for the velcro patches keeps coming away from the window.However as they are much cheaper than the branded alternative and work a treat through the night I would buy again.
