A Reader's Hebrew Bible

Clear text and lots of vocab aids in the footnotes. Excellent aid.
I bought this because relearning biblical Hebrew ( I first learned it in Cambridge 40+ years ago) is quite a challenge. This has a very clear text really well printed and bound and most importantly every word that occurs less than 1000 times is detailed in the footnotes on every page that it occurs on. There is also a decent lexicon for the more common words. It makes it easier to get to grips with the original text from quite early on in the relearning process.

An excellent bible. The script is clear and easier to read than the square characters. The notes are always accurate and well composed. All in one makes reading a lot easier and more accessible...to think you're reading the very words penned by Moshe, Yisaiah, Dawid and all other portions of the Tenach.

Really good
Not much to add to the other reviews. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Very happy with it.One minor issue I have is that I am not totally sold on the idea of slightly graying out proper nouns that occur less than 100 times. This is done so that you don't spend ages trying to work out what a word means only to realise that it's a name. It makes the text look a bit washed out. Having said that, it serves its purpose well and I can't think of a better way of doing it.One even more minor quibble. The floppy cover is not leather as stated in the description. It is Italian Duo-Tone, whatever that is, and it is only one tone contrary to what you might expect: a sort of sandy brown colour. Time will tell how durable it is.

I love this.
For years now, I've been using 'The Reader's Greek New Testament' and loving it. It means that I can sit down and read the New Testament without having to reach for a dictionary every few verses. It's perhaps not the way to do an in-depth study of the Greek text, but it does mean that I can do my casual and devotional reading in the original, and certain things begin to 'stick' because I'm seeing them so often (for example, the various meanings one particular word can have.)I've been longing for a Hebrew version, and now it's here, and even better, it doesn't disappoint! It's a thicker volume (obviously!) but otherwise is a perfect match for the Greek version, and they compliment each other wonderfully. It's even covered with the same type of rubbery material (not leather as stated above, but like the other reviewer, I actually prefer it to leather).I was afraid that the text might be too tiny to be usable, but it's not - it's perfectly clear.I loved the Greek version so much that I bought a second copy in case anything happened to the first. I'm considering doing the same with this volume. If you want to keep reading your Hebrew but don't have time for continually referring to a lexicon, I can't recommend this highly enough. Again, it will be no substitute for proper language study, but it will enable you to read larger chunks than you might otherwise contemplate.Wonderful!
