I read this immediately after reading Killing Patton which was a mistake. Most of this books content is also in the Killing Patton book and appears to be for readers that do not intend to get the Patton book. So I was a little disappointed on the lack of new content or word this better, many exact quotes from the Patton book but still worth reading.

Wonderful historical account of Hitler, Patton, and other World War II individuals
An easy read, documenting the major events and historical figures of the last 6 months of World War II. The author makes personal the experiences of the good and bad of events leading to the surrender by Germany. Leading figures of the War are offered up as real people with personalities and character. Get to know who they were, and the difference they made in our lives. Appreciate what they did, and we don’t have to do. Learn about Hitler, the man in all his hatred and arrogance. Learn from what happened so we don’t allow intolerance to rear it’s ugly head again

A real pager turner
Great overview of this psychopath and his girl friend. Should be required reading in schools. Well researched from relatives involved with this madman during the War and, yes, it's a page turner. If you like pictures that help place the story you won't be disappointed. The book also briefly covers a number of other events such as the treasure trove found at the Merkers mine, the liberation of the death camps, and more. Highly recommended.

Money grab!Bill O'Reilly rehashed entire passages from his book Killing Patton for Hitler's Last Days. Not impressed at all for what I paid for the kindle edition. I would say 50% of Hitler's Last Days comes directly, word for word, from Killing Patton.

There are better works done by better authors.
Very short, and not very well written. I'm typically a fan of O'Reilly's writing, but this book (really more like an extended magazine essay) is mired with sophomoric prose and phrasings. It's my understanding that this book is actually an excerpt from a larger whole, but truthfully I don't know that I would be very interested in reading it. By comparison, the works of Shirer are much more skillfully rendered, and actually have a way of sounding modern and approachable, unlike this book which is full of charged and awkward phraseology.

This was a gift for my Grandson at his request. He is 15 and at the age where he is interested in History and in WWII. His Mom told me that when the book arrived he was thrilled. He knows (because of good teachers and a military-honoring family) who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. I perused the book before I sent it and it is VERY well written and researched. I would recommend this book highly.

O'Reilly Knows his History
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, which Bill O'Reilly and his trusty researcher have eloquently put together. This time period essentially is from the winter of 1944 until Hitler's death in 1945, emphasizing the Battle of the Bulge and the erasure of Germany's borders by the advancing Allied armies, especially the Soviet Red Army from the Eastern front. As the Allies advance, Germany's military might crumbles, as does Hitler's reign of terror over the past decade. A very good summary of the closure of the war in Europe, and Hitler's subsequent death by suicide. Highly recommended if you enjoy World War II history.

Decent short read
I’m not a huge reader. Maybe 2-4 books a year, and I had this read in a couple hours. Based upon my studies of WW2 this seems accurate. However , 60-70% of the book is about Patton, not hitler. Good book overall for a quick history lesson and American occupation of France in 1944/ battle of bulge.

Excellent, not just for kids but for adults too who are looking for an overview without needless dwelling on the details of the barbarity of the man. Just enough detail to understand the horror of what he brought to the world.

This is an excellent book, easy to read
This is an excellent book, easy to read, up close details of WWII as seen from both sides, personal details about the combatants on both sides and a fascinating look at Hitler's final days and hours.
