Installed this on my south side recessed patio with only a few issues. First, the instructions could be better, watched an assembly video to figure out a few minor things. Had to replace all the sheet metal screws on the main tarp reel, the holes were too large for the small screws that came with the kit and three of the 4 screws on the pre-assembled center piece were striped from the factory, no big deal for me. I had to add additional bracing at the top where it meets the underside of the overhang. This was due to the lack of any real support and I didn't like the idea of so much pressure pushing against the trim board. The bracing helps distribute the pressure over a larger area. I also added concrete stepping pads under the bottom feet or they would sink into the ground when tightened.Other than that I like it and could feel the temp difference on my side patio as soon as I unreeled it. Now we can sit outside in the summer time, without the sun baking us.

I bought it to block the evening sun so we can enjoy our lanai. The pros, it's perfect. The cons, I received one sheet of paper for instructions. Thanks to the reviews, I was able to put most of it together. One review mentioned that they contacted the company for the instructions. When I did that, the instructions came within a few hours. But I had already spent hours watching and reading review videos to help guide me. The instructions aren't the greatest, but they helped. I'm still on the fence because I can't shut it all the way do to the slant on the screen enclosure. But I will try it out and hope that I continue to love it.Update: I was able to pull the side rods down to be able to close the canopy all the way. Unfortunately, after a heavy rain, the middle rod bent when the canopy collected water. I contacted the company and they were able to assist with parts.

i bought two of these. Both came with the fabric missing the top hole for rolling rod. So i had them sewed to make the hole tunnel so i can fish the top rod. Then after i installed it the fabric automatically rolled down by itself . I think that the fabric needs to be fastened to the top rod to prevent it from self rolling if i am not mistaken. In the manual, nothing said about this so i dont know if i am right or wrong. There is no customer support that i can call for help.I could not return it because i had to wait for my ADU unit to be complete before i can install the awningA complete waste of moneyUpdated 10/15/22The Seller contacted me and recommended me to check out installation videos. I did and found out that I did not install it correctly. After I followed the steps from videos thr. It works perfectly.Now the problem was the manual was not written clearly particularly at the very important step:Installing the fabric and the wire to the top cross bar.Some might figure it out but I am sure that some including myself could not. I remove 2 stars for this.

This is an excellent awning it was easy to install no screw-in installation, is easy to use, is perfect for a patio, balcony, courtyard, porch, deck, etc... it measures 118” x 39”, the height can be adjusted from 7.54’ up to 10.49’.You can absolutely enjoy being outdoors in hot and rainy days under the awning without worry. Is water resistant we have had some rainy days and not a drop on our heads now we can be out in our courtyard under this without getting wet, when is hot it also feels cooler under the canopy.This awning is very well made, excellent materials and workmanship, it takes maybe 25 minutes after you figure it out to install my husband installed by himself.It comes with a hand-crank mechanism which is very easy to use, opens and closes easily in less than a minute. All in all excellent quality, value and amazing item.

I rarely leave reviews, but I am so thrilled with this product that I just had to provide feedback. I have been searching for a portable awning to keep my dogs dry during the rains, but also provide shade during the summer. This awning is a perfect solution for side/front yard patios and the best part is, you can move it as the seasons change. I did get a little confused with the assembly, but the videos were super helpful and I was able to get this up very quickly. Quick tip - if you do not have a straight edge for the top pole (#18) the plug will tip as you tighten it down. Although I did add a nail with a zip tie to secure.
