Portasol SP-1 Super Pro Gas Sold Iron 125

I had the exact one before I purchased this and when it broke (After 8 years of daily use as a mechanic) I've ordered the same one again.Heats up quick, gets really hot and has a decent storage capacity for gas. Can also see how much has is left if you hold it up to a light.

I had only ever used a corded electrical soldering iron previously. This Portasol gas iron is really great. easy to change tips (make sure it's cooled down first!) It heats up to temperature in around 30 seconds. I also bought a 1mm tip and heat nozzle and deflector, which work really well for heat shrinking on cables.The gas tank seems to hold a decent amount of fuel too which is readily available in supermarkets etc.

Having owned an older model for many years I was pleased to find that not only is the iron still in production but a more powerful 125W version was available. This is a very well made and versatile soldering iron and with the addition of the hot-air tip and reflector a very useful heat-shrink tool. I also use just the "blowtorch" on small silver projects which it is very adept at. Highly recommended.

I have tried different gas soldering irons in the past. The two most common problems i used to face were, failing ignition and when the tank was full, burning in low flame (temperature) was not an option because they were failing to keep a consistent temperature, regardless of how full the gas tank was.Full tank meant, you couldn’t burn a low flame and tank getting empty meant the temperature was dropping.Not with thus one. Great quality. Consistent. Sturdy! Ignites every time. And well designed. After getting used to it, I could fully operate it with one hand only.Plus the company sells here on Amazon for £10 the main part of the whole iron, the front burner if it ever fails.Which means buying a new one won’t be needed.Excellent product. That’s why so many positive reviews.

Great portable iron. It’s to replace my old one of the same type that I dropped and broke, but was still working after years of service.It heats up quickly and with the optional interchangeable tips is very versatile.I would recommend to anyone that’s looking for one.

Got this to wire truck lights and to use on automotive wiring, Bargain!! Well priced for a cracking bit of kit, absolutely spot on, well made and robust, have only used it a hand full of times up to now but works a dream super hot and does exactly what it says it does on the box, neat little wire stand built in, easy to refill and see how much gas is left with the little window, even in the wind it stays hot enough to get a good flow of solder, would but again but with how well made this is I won’t need to, for a very long time at least!

Ich habe diesen Gaslötkolben als Ersatz für meinen Portasol Super Pro gekauft, der nach über 20 Jahren leider an Verstopfung gestorben ist. Der neue hat erfreulicherweise eine Düse zum Wechseln, aber aus Vorsichtsgründen werde ich nur noch hochgereinigtes Butan, vorzugsweise Isobutan, verwenden. Leistung ist für alle vorkommenden Lötarbeiten an elektronischen Teilen völlig ausreichend; ich verwende den Lötkolben hauptsächlich am Auto, um Kabel zu verlöten, dabei dürfen gerne auch 4-6 qmm Querschnitt vorkommen, dicke Lötspitze vorausgesetzt. Vorsicht ist geboten bei der seitlichen Austrittsöffnung an der Lötspitze, dort kommen sehr heiße Gase heraus.
