It is a great middle-size pyramid which did replace our old one that we bought 30 years ago in Germany and which unfortunately lost one of its blades. The quality of it is good: it's beautiful and steady. It brings a joy like our old one. Hopefully it will stay with us for another 30 years.

Overall, a fairly nice unit, but some minor flaws made it less than easy to set up and display. It came with no instructions or pictorial at all. But, it's not difficult to figure out how to put together. Most of it is already assembled. One of the candle holder slots had some excess glue inside, making it impossible to install the candle holder until I cut away the glue enough to insert the holder in all the way. An underside bearing cap holder slot on one side was way too narrow. I had to whittle the end of the retaining piece (a thin wood slat) in order for it to fit. I even soaked the wood slat first because it needed to bend a little bit over the bearing cap without breaking. And, it was very difficult to slide in all the way. The fan blade installation holes aren't well aligned with each other. The whole top assembly appears to wave up and down due to this obvious misalignment (see my video). The blades are flat on one side, but a bit raised on the other. It works well, can slowly rotate with only 2 or 3 candles. 100% silent. No breakage, anomalies or defects. Runs very fast with all six candles lit (see my video with only 3 lit).

I've been looking for an affordable Christmas carousel for many years to replace the one I had that was lost in a move. I should have splurged on an authentic one made in Germany instead of opting for this cheap Asian one. When it arrived, Joseph had fallen off and I had to glue him back on. The sizes of the holes and slots for assembling the blades, candle holders, and spindle support are too small for the respective parts that need to be inserted into them, making assembly without breakage very challenging. The box did not include an initial set of candles, so I cannot speak to whether or not it functions as it ought. I'll buy some Shabbos candles next week and give it a try. They should be the correct size and are half the cost of the red candles made for this type of pyramid.

Overall I love it. The Shepard was detached, must have fallen off in shipping, so I’ll have to glue it on. The candles I bought separately had trouble staying perfectly upright in the holders. I’m thinking they will probably be fine if I pour wax in the holder before setting the candles in. The fan blades are a little flimsy, but they provided an extra so as long as only one breaks it’s fine. One of the wisemen had a black head but white hands, which was a little weird but I can paint it to match one way or the other so it’s not a big deal. I don’t think I’d want to pay more than $40 for this product but it was fine for the price I paid.
