Well made
Well made, mine had no directions on how to install. Looking at other reviews it seems some people install it upside down. Curious why? Videos helped. 4 stars because no instructions to install, or how high to install.I received bag of hardware, hex head screws are not black and have nothing to cover screw heads with. No information for drill bit size if attaching to studs. I would not trust black screws and wall anchors.

This is a nice and well made hand rail that should be perfect for my need, but it hasn't been installed yet. I'm waiting on my son to visit and help with the installation.

Effective and low profile handrails for outdoor stairs
If you read all the other reviews first and take their tips then this is a GREAT product. First, the screw heads aren't hardy enough, so replace them with ones that won't strip out, but the length is correct. Second, you must glue the small handle screws into the back of the plate first and snug them up tightly and let them dry. Those were the two flaws in the product… Long screws, whose heads will strip out and small screws that loosen overtime if they're not glued in.

Plate size incorrect
Bars looked well made. I read the back plate as being 1.97 “ wide, its actually about 2.75 “ It would not fit between my trim piece unless I used washers or some kind of backer board. Back they go and already reordered another brand hopefully with correct measurements.

Looks great and very sturdy
I just had this rail Installed by my carpenter. It came with screws and anchors, however we choose to install it onto a backer board and then to the drywall for more support as one side was not hitting a stud in the drywall. One thing that I didn’t understand is that the black metal plate that goes on the wall is not welded to the actual rail but screws in from behind. On other products, reviewers felt that those back screws loosened up quickly, so we screwed the screws in with the glue to ensure that they stay put. After all of this, I am very happy with the rail and my carpenter is too!
