Excellent protection for an outdoor camera
Even though a camera is rated as "outdoor", this rating protects the electronics from being damaged by weather. It does not prevent rain from blinding the lens. It does not prevent snow from building up on the housing and blinding the lens. These shields immensely "help" eliminate these issues. They act as an umbrella for my cameras. Heavy rain is much less of an issue. Heavy snow builds up on the cover and usually just slides off to the ground. Even if it does not slide off, a builds up on the cover, it usually does not cause a problem with the lens. Because the underside of these shields are a dark black color, they do not cause glare issues when my camera's white lights or IR lights turn on at night. The manufacturer though these out well. Getting 4 of these shields for under $70.00 is a good deal to me. It is well worth about $17.50 each to protect my camera's vision in bad weather and helping to prevent the sun from beating down on my camera on hot sunny days!I am sure these shields will not eliminate all weather related issues. IE: I am sure a hard, horizontal rain or snow could still be an issue. These shields, however, are a simple, easy to install device that has greatly reduced the issues with weather and my outdoor cameras. They look good, do a fantastic job, are inexpensive and don't need any sort of maintenance.I am VERY happy with these camera shields. I give them 5 stars!

Universal Security Camera Shields - Effective, Versatile, But Heavy
I was surprised both by the bulk and the weight of these covers. They seem durable enough to stand up to even extreme weather conditions. The plus side is that they do look like they will work well for many years to come. The trade off is that installing them does require a little more care and time. You have to make sure you position them somewhere there is enough support on the exterior wall to support the weight of them. Be careful of positioning if you are installing them in a property that has synthetic siding like vinyl, as you want to make sure you pick a spot where there will not be a void between these shields and the structure underneath the siding. In terms of looks they are attractive and functional. And they are long enough to accommodate a wide range of devices, from flatter devices to longer more traditional ones. That is exactly what I was looking for and it has a lot of value.CONCLUSIONThese shields are versatile enough for almost any camera or device but still durable enough to give you good protection. Definitely recommend them.

Long covers, non-glossy coating on the inside
The best thing about these is the length, they provide shielding from light for cameras aimed horizontally or at small angles. These covers are described as made of ABS: it really looks like sheet metal to me. They feel sturdy, cannot tell how well they hold until they do go through a few seasons, wind and snow and 90+ Fahrenheit. The underside has a non-glossy black coating to avoid ghost images from stray light reflections reaching the camera lens. Each cover came with an extra bolt, great for the bad luck moments on installing. I prefer hex head bolts for outdoors, where corrosion takes its toll over the long run, but the provided bolts are regular Phillips head bolts. These are in no way trying to hide from view. To the contrary, they’re big and obvious. That may be a plus, as deterrence is better than after-fact evidence, or a minus, if deterrence is not applicable, e.g. if one is where he can see these then he’s already where he shouldn’t be.The only notable downside is if used with panning cameras. These covers are great for fixed cameras pointing straight, aligned to the axis of the cover. Aiming the camera sideways may result in less protection from light and elements. Too many variables here, for example the location where these get installed, the size of the camera and how close under the cover it can be installed. I would only subtract half a star from my rating for versatility, but these covers are good for what they're meant for.

A few missing measurements.
There are a few missing measurements on the pictures. What you need to know the most is where the screw holes need to be, what their distance apart is. That's not there in the image. I had a perfect spot for these, but it's really not all that perfect because I can't mount it. It's too short by exactly the width of both fasteners. They are otherwise great shelters. I have no qualms about leaving these in the rain. They are sturdy, stiff, no bending.I feel that these are best suited on a south wall or on a post, but will be (at least for us) useless on an west/east or east/west facing wall or post. It won't block the sun at all there. For the most part, time will tell if this product will hold up in the elements. If anything happens to change my mind about this product, I will update this review. Until then...Bottom line: Would I order again? No. I think I need something shorter and wider and more fit for east/west positioning. Would I gift? No.

Shielding outdoor cameras protects investment and results.
Our outdoor cameras are promised to weather the elements. They do but suffer for it. Performance is compromised and life-span is shortened. It's harsh conditions outside in the best of weather! A camera shield is an absolute necessity. These are generously sized, solid, very durable METAL, and will weather the storms unphased in that there is nothing to damage or break. These indestructible shields take the beating that is now spared your cameras. Be sure that you don't block the full range of the camera with where you place the shield. When you get one set up right, then you can replicate for all the remaining cameras. It is fast and easy. And when the harsh weather hits, which includes unrelenting SUNSHINE, you'll take comfort in knowing that the shields are absorbing the all of it. It's enough that the cameras are still subjected to extreme humidity or drought conditions, that will test their ability at being suitable for outdoors. I won't punish my cameras if I can help it. I count on them for SAFETY!
