Pachmayr 05178 Tactical Grip Glove for Springfield XD(S), Black

I carry the Springfield XDs .45 ACP every day. It is very concealable, relatively lightweight, and does not print in the least. I hate shooting it, however, which is not a good thing for a carry weapon. Last time I was at the range, I ran about 30 round through it before I gave up. It tears my hand to pieces. Shooting .45 rounds through a 3.3" barrel has its tradeoffs, and one is absorbing a great deal of recoil with my shooting hand. As a result, I was desperate to find something that would absorb some of the recoil. I've looked and looked, but other than the Talon grips (which don't absorb much of anything), I have until recently found nothing that was made for this gun. Thankfully, searching various forums last Friday, I found one that suggested the Pachmayr 05178 Tactical Grip Glove for my gun. I received it in the mail yesterday and put it on immediately! It feels 100% better already. I have not been to the range yet this week, but am willing to believe that this is going to greatly reduce the wear and tear on my hand. Besides absorbing some of the recoil, it also gives me a bit more to hold onto, and it smooths the very rough texture of this gun's grip. I bought this gun to carry for a number of reasons, knowing that recoil was going to be an issue, but with the Pachmayr glove, I will be able to actually enjoy shooting it now. Thanks, Pachmayr!!

.45 is my caliber of choice across many pistols. Pachmayr are on everything. First their ease of installation, generous , but 'mild' oversizing, their cushioned construction. Saying that, my XDs .45 is a great pistol for the reasons I bought it, but wasn't really ergonomically comfortable for my larger hands.The pachmayr changed all this. Control you would expect from a 1911 w/pachmayr, rock solid in the hand. As a consequence lots more rounds in the X-Ring. The grip put the XDs back on my hip as my carry gun.A major change in control and accuracy for pennies-

This is my second purchase... the one I have on my .45 XDS currently is fine, just thought I'd buy an extra. The one I have installed has been on about six months, is carried IWB and shows no signs of wear. This grip is just outstanding, makes a huge difference on follow through shots because the pistol stays put with a firm grip... Unlike having the XDS without this grip, which would require me to readjust my grip after a few shots. Installation wasn't difficult, i just took my time and everything fit perfectly with no interruption of the grip safety. I am a certified firearms instructor and don't normally modify my pistols other than sights but this modification is recommended if you're having issues with your grip and follow through shots.

The slab design of the XDs Mod 1 is, for me, a hard pistol to handle. For a small guy I have these huge claws that have nowhere to go on such a slim pistol. The Pachmayr 05178 makes a heck of a difference. Originally I put Tractiongrips on it. That really wasn't enough. So I left them intact on the pistol and added the Pachmayr. As some had reported that the added grip was squishy and had a tendency to move around, I believe leaving the traction grips in place helped that scenario. Practicing draw scenarios frequently gives me no problem and I find no real movement during live fire practice. The Pachmayr grip helps me handle the XDs better and gives me a firmer, more reliable hold. Even such that it has improved my draw to fire accuracy. Great product in this case for the cost.

Nice rubber grip. Makes for comfortable shooting at the range. Goes on pretty easy with a little force applied. Would have given 5 stars but it rides up a little to the rear safety on a springfield XD and will keep the safety pulled in if you dont pay it attention. Bit besides that quirk it's really nice and comfy.

Simple. Easy to take on and off. Wish it was not as thick and squishy. The soft texture around the grip helps with conceal carry as on my IWB holster leaves the grip exposed and against your skin. This makes it way more comfortable for me. On thing also worth mentioning is on the XDS there is a rear grip safety that sort of naturally gets disengaged when most people grip and draw the firearm however with this piece on, you sort of have to train yourself to grab high on the gun and squeeze harder than you normally would.

edit: I had it upside down..... so It slides around and isn't secure, it slides up against the grip safety and effectively makes it stick in an unsafe way(since I corrected it these issues aren't as bad though I'm still concerned it will interfere with the grip safety .. It feels good in hand but needs to be either textured inside or sticky or just more snug. It's OK

Received this product and placed it right away. Just as the other reviews suggested, I needed to place a few drops of glue on each side of inside slip to keep from sliding up or down. I also took the opportunity myself to cut out a half moon style piece on the back safety lever so that it would not interfere with the mechanism. Overall, this is so much better than the product I had on before, it worked but kept coming off because adhesive was not strong enough to keep on, and had to continually re-glue. I would recommend this product, but each individual would have to decide their own modification if needed.
