A knobbly orange super-hero! Like The Thing, but with less clobberin' and more... hair removal.
Picture, if you will, a Nissan X-Trail. Got that? Good! Now imagine that it has had a dog in the back. Not just occasionally, you understand, but almost every day, sometimes for hours. The dog is one of those mixed breed collie-terrier-goodness-knows-what types, with long feathery outer hair and short tufted underfur, both of which it can shed at a rate sufficient to stuff an average pillowcase every five minutes. Now further imagine that said mutt has been using the car as a home-away-from-home for TWELVE YEARS.Finally, imagine that the aforementioned vehicle has *not been cleaned in that entire time*, and that your elderly parent has handed it over to you (thankfully without the dog) and said "I've got a new car... could you give this one a bit of a clean up and sell it for me?"If your imagination is any good, you ought to have a look of horror on your face right now. The inside was *plastered* in stinky hair. Every crevice, every nook and cranny, every fibre of every square inch of carpet and upholstery, was hopelessly matted in dog fur. I vacuumed. I brushed. I swept. I vacuumed again. I used duct tape. STILL there were uncountable thousands of hairs that just Would Not Budge unless individually removed by fingertips or tweezers, and every day when I went back to put in yet another couple of hours' back-breaking labour, there would be yet another bounteous crop of pungent furriness where I would have sworn I had left none.In desperation, I turned to Amazon to see what could be done, and lo!"Lifts, gathers and removes", they said."Oo!", I said."Magical", they said."Hmmm...", I said.I won't go so far as to say that I was "looking forward" to trying it out - frankly, I had reached the stage where I would have gladly traded one of my less-essential organs in exchange for never having to remove another dog hair from anything for the rest of my life - but I did approach the car with a certain grim determination, clutching my new CarPET like Van Helsing stalking towards a coffin with crucifix in hand...And blow me if it didn't actually work.It isn't "magical", unfortunately: despite my best efforts, waving it at the interior and intoning "Wingardium Leviosa!" had no appreciable effect. In fact, it still takes a fair amount of brushing to get shorter and finer hairs up... but it *did* shift them where nothing else had. It doesn't really "remove" either, but it is excellent for detaching the hair from carpet and upholstery and gathering it into a loose pile which can be easily scraped or hoovered up. The device feels good in the hand, and seems quite sturdily made. The car has never looked better... or at least, not since the dog first got in it.All in all, a good purchase, and something I would be happy to recommend to anyone faced with a similarly-nasty pet-hair situation. Four stars rather than five, as it isn't cheap for what's essentially a couple of short square-cross-section plastic tubes with some knobbly bits on, and a few of said bits have broken off already. And it doesn't actually do magic.Nonetheless, I doubt you'll be disappointed!

One thing missing....
Great product, does exactly what is advertised, great value for money. Why this heading you ask? The only thing missing is someone to use them instead of me. Buy this product, you won't be disappointed.

Pet hair removal
I love this easy to use tool to remove pet hair off the carpet I have on the stairs. It really collects the pet hairs as I have a jack Russell dog with long hair that needs a shave now and again. This truly does the job of removing the pet hairs, then I just pick it up. Recommend

We have two really long-haired cats who leave clumps of fur everywhere and like to roll around the place
This is a really effective little device at getting embedded cat fur out of carpets. We have two really long-haired cats who leave clumps of fur everywhere and like to roll around the place, really getting it stuck in, and our house has wall to wall carpets throughout. These hair removers made a really big difference when our old vacuum was failing to stand up to the job. They are easy to grip, and we just pull them over the surface of the carpet and they drag the fur out of the weave into nice big clumps. These not only saved our old vacuum from completely clogging up (it used to get blockages all the time), but they made it easier to keep on top of the fur without having to get out the heavy old vacuum every day.The only thing I would say is that over time, the plastic seems to wear down - on one side of one of them, it has almost gone entirely flat where before it was about 5-10mm high plastic bristles. I don't think this is unacceptable wear, however - we have used them a lot - but just something to be aware of when you buy them.A really useful buy if you have extremely furry pets, they keep the carpets looking in a much better condition and also work on any soft-furnished items - backs of sofas have also received a treatment from these and they look good too

Does a lot for such a small thing!
Having a house cat, a black domestic short hair who delights in rolling around on the floor at random, I found my living room rug was no longer the colour it was when I bought it. I tried scraping the fur out with my fingers but this just hurt my nails. This little rubber remover is a great piece of equipment. It looks a bit like a giant earaser with nobbly bits on it. Those bits grip down into the rug and pull out bits of fur as you scrape it over the carpet. The fur, hair and random bits of fluff all get rolled up and end up in heaps which you can easily gather up into a heap and get rid of.It does require a bit of elbow grease, so be prepared to put your energy into it. Also, if the cat is hanging around be prepared for it to attack your hand as mine did- he thought it was a fun 'game' so I had to divert him with some toys. As you can see from my photo this is how much fur and stuff I had got out of my living room rug after about ten or fifteen minutes of scraping.I would definitely recommend this to anyone with pets and/or someone who sheds vast amounts of hair.
