This is a great tool for guitarists. I had been practicing chords and songwriting for quite some time and have neglected my lead playing. Oy! When you get away from playing lead for a while your fingers get a wee bit stiff so this device works great with limbering up the fingers. If you are considering this to help you hit notes and scales/modes as you play across the neck.With the short time I have had this device, I can say it has helped my left hand get stronger and each finger, especially the pinky, to strengthen up so that I can accurately hit the low E string and hold it down. Mind you a year ago this was no big deal but when you go that long without playing scales your fingers can get very weak and this unit is great for getting your fingers strong again.I rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it does what it says it does - so long as you use it regularly!

Though I was not happy to learn this product was assembled in China rather than the U.S., I was pleased with the sturdy construction and the fact that the tension range goes from 3 to 8.5 pounds which means I don't have to purchase multiple hand exercises to cover this same range. Though I only gave four stars to comfort level the fact that I have small hands is certainly a factor. Very pleased overall.
