FEELINGS BK REV ED: The Care and Keeping of Your Emotions (American Girl(r) Wellbeing) Paperback – Illustrated, 26 Feb. 2013

I wanted something for my 9 year old daughter who I think seems to be dealing with hormones. One min she's happy, then angry then crying. I didn't want something too old which I found with other books talking about sex etc. This book however is fantastic and very age appropriate for this age. It's written in a great fun way in which she can understand and you can also complete questions and answers. It's got everything covered including dealing with grieve. I like this book so much I will be purchasing the other ones 5 stars from me

This has really helped my daughter to identify and understand her emotions- the only thing that threw her was the way they spell Mum... MOM 😂😂.

My 9 year old daughter was dealing with some feelings that she didn't understand and that were distressing her. We talked but I felt I needed to give her more help and guidance. I bought this book, offering a choice that we could look at it together or on her own. She immediately wanted to read it alone. She loved it! Reading up to 26 pages at a time. Easy to read, great illustrations, paced well. She has learnt so much about herself that she has impressed me. It has really helped her and she asked for the accompanying feelings journal, which I also got her.

Great explanations for younger children to understand and apply to emotional situations they find themselves in. Enough on each page without being overwhelming and great lighthearted illustrations to complement the information. Bought for my 9 year old - she is really enjoying reading it and is finding it helpful.

This has really helped my 8yo daughter. She has been struggling with her emotions recently and so I wanted something that would help with this and talk about reaching puberty but without going into details about sex just yet and this is exactly what this book does. The context and approach is appropriate for her age and the use of language is well pitched too.

I bought this to discuss emotions with my daughter. It's easy going helpful and tailored to help with well being. Overall very positive. It was helpful as we have recently moved house and changed schools (large things for children) but could be of use in a number of areas including talking about respect and bullying and building well being

Really great to read with both my daughters age 8 & 10yrs. Helps them raise difficult topics, and great as a reference for them after a tricky day. Would love something similar for my son.

Good little book to help make some sense of variety of feelings little ones get to deal with.

American Girl does it again!! This feelings book helps girls growing and emotions understandable. They word each topic perfectly and describe difficult topics in a way that is relatable. This book helped my little girl understand all the changing emotions and feelings she was dealing with during this growing time. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to help their little/young girl understand why she is feeling the way she is.

I bought this book, along with another 2 from the American Girl series, for my friend's daughter's First Holy Communion. I knew that she would get crosses and bible stories, so I wanted to get something different. The last time I was at their house, my friend was telling me about how much trouble she was having making sure her daughter played fair whenever they had guests. Her daughter has a best friend and whenever the best friend is around, they want to play alone together and ignore all the other kids. Her daughter, almost 8, also asks lots of questions about life as a women about being a mom and wife, and often wants to engage in conversations about feelings. Knowing all this, I figured I'd get books to help my friend talk with her daughter about feelings, standing up for friends, and avoiding gossip. I thought they would go over best when my friend brought them up and they would be more instructive. They went over better than I could have imagined. After opening all her gifts, she cuddled up with her aunt and spent at least an hour looking over, reading, and having her aunt read those books. My friend also sent pictures of her daughter reading them herself in the car, in bed, and in the living room. If you're worried the kids won't want to read these, my friend's kid cannot put them down. I just hope there is a similar series for boys too! Boys also need to learn these things!
