This was a perfect gift for my 8year old who loves to play outside. We went on hikes with it and it found some coins which was great. My son is 50 inches tall and the height was perfect for him.

The media could not be loaded. It's easy to assemble and easy to operate.It's pretty straightforward. 3 target ID categories and a depth reading.The depth reading was hit or miss but the target ID was spot on for 2 types of coins and iron.Has a backlight and sound, which were nice.I was able to get about 6" on an air test with a quarter. My daughter will love practicing with this until she can understand and swing an ace250. It's size adjustable and she was able to get it to fit her perfectly.I currently use a nox600 and at pro. It was pretty fun to test this. I'm excited for her to find something with it!

I ordered this kids metal detector with the hopes of using it to find hidden treasure, and so far, I have yet to find any treasure. But that's not the fault of this little metal detector; I don't have any buried treasure on my half-acre. I have found lots and lots of rusty hardware, badly damaged tools, and a few dog tags (like for dogs, not soldiers), and it alerted me to a few things that were deeper than I wanted to dig. Perhaps there is treasure, but my grandson and I don't want to dig too deep. We placed my gold ring in the grass, and it detected it (thankfully). The detector was easy to assemble, the instructions were clear, and in no time at all, we started searching for that treasure. It is light enough not to get tired of holding it and easy to maneuver. The screen brightness is adjustable and readable even in daylight. The shaft length has 6-inches of adjustment to accommodate people of varying heights. Supposedly you can put the coil in shallow water. However, I did not have any puddles to test that claim. Time will tell.In conclusion, I am impressed by this little metal detector. I was skeptical about how it would work, and even though we found no treasure, we had a blast using it. And, after all, that is what's most important. On second thought, perhaps the treasure is the detector itself...I bet my grandson thinks so!

My daughter likes this toy. However, it makes noice for most of the rocks 😀

The media could not be loaded. I have been metal detecting for at least 15 years and have thousands invested in my detectors. This is a great beginning detector for a small child to see if he/she will like the hobby. I buried a penny, dime, nickel and quarter in different areas about 4" deep and this detector found them all. It comes with 2 AA batteries and set-up is a breeze. Give this to a kid, take him/her to a school playground where there are swing sets and if your lucky and the swings are on sand, this little thing will find coins and the kid will be so excited you won't believe how happy he/she will be.

This product is junk

This metal detector is marketed for kids but I can say it is better than expected. The unit, although being very lightweight and looking kid like, does a real quality job. First off this is very easy to assemble right out of the box. The directions are clear and easy to follow for assembly and for use of the detector.It works great by detecting the different metal groups with high accuracy and even shows the depth. I like that you can set it to alert on certain types of metals for any of the 3 types. This eliminates false readings or readings for items you're not looking for. Would buy again!

This device is not intended for any amount of accuracy. I tried using is for finding a small metal object and the screen on the device kept on beeping intermittently even though the metal detector wasn't near anything metallic. The metal detector could realistically be used if you have a large number of metalic objects in a nonmetallic environment. Otherwise, you will not be able to differentiate. It is completely useless for finding coins or nails because the device will always be distracted by other things/object that are a little bit metallic (example metal coatings, shreds of metal).I had no choice but to give it away because it was of NO use whatsoever.
