Encyclopedia of Native Tribes of North America

Nice book to have in your reference library on Native Americans. Impressive photos and illustrations.

My husband had this book from the library and absolutely loved it. It is a great resource in reading about his ancestral heritage. We have checked out several books from the library but this one he definitely wanted to have in his own personal library.

Had a lot of information on tribes I’d never heard of

Excellent book with alot of information.The book has several nice photos and drawings.My only complaint is Amazon needs to package books with alot more care.I received the book with all of the corners damaged.The book was placed in a box without any padding, so it was obvious it had been banging around during the trip to my home.Did not return it because I liked the contents so much.

I wanted a single source to the various groups of indigenous peoples of North America. I've acquired several of the popular overviews and never found one that really satisfied. This one does. A fine mix of photos and great paintings, pictures of artifacts, maps of territories, and best, perhaps a decent text that summarizes each group. One nit: They deal with tribes existing at the time Europeans arrived, but don't provide enough on the various ancient civilizations (mound builders, poverty point, etc.). In the future, when I hear of a tribe and want to know more, this is the first book I will pull from my shelf.

I received this book , I enjoy reading it , I had problems with tracking , for some reason , it's like when buying books , there isn't a clear cut way of knowing when it will arrive, and without a tracking number , to verify he item is coming after purchase , the customer has no proof theyare even going to receive the item., All n all though , the book is a great book , and I am happy to add it to my collection of books on native americans .

Easy to read

Very disappointed with this item the book itself looks very interesting but there is at least 12 pages which have been removed . I know this was a second hand purchase but surely the saler should have checked before selling this book . I m very disappointed

As someone who wants to know more about native Americans n their history, this was thorough n enlightening without being draggy. The book is heavy though.. and I regret that the hardcover is way pricier than the soft cover. This, along with Project 562, has deepened my understanding and appreciation.
