MasterClassNylon-Headed Metal Kitchen Tongs, 28 cm (11'')

It is a sturdy product and reasonably well made and the nylon heads are good and firmly in place, but it has a design fault that drives me nuts. It has a locking device to enable it to be squeezed together and held in place when storing away. But the design can also lock in the open position if not held in one particular way. So, every time you use it you have to check that you are holding it in this particular way, otherwise the locking device can fall into position preventing you picking up whatever you are cooking.

These are used at least 5 times a week for serving dinner. I like to put saucepans and baking trays out and everybody helps themselves. These are used for spaghetti, chips, chicken pieces, salad, veg and much more. I put them in the dishwasher and although I have had them for over a year they look like new. I already have a second pair. I think they make a longer set but I find these perfect.

Have some all metal kitchen tongs but thought I would purchase a new pair with plastic ends to save scratching my new pans. These are really nice and good quality. Really well made and the end pulls out to release the tongs for use. Keeps them closed for storage which is great. The only downside is that they don't have a hole at the end for hanging storage on a rail which is a shame. Should last a long time as they seem to be well made.

Be careful when ordering these tongs. They don't fully close; the design means there is a large gap between the paddles when closed. Probably OK for burgers and sausages on a BBQ, but fit anything thin like bacon, or bread, it's useless. I works have returned it by had opened the packaging and tried to use them before I realised.

I didn't realize I had bought the shorter version, but I guess that was my fault. Otherwise good quality and sturdy with good heat resistance.

They do what they say at a basic level but these are not sturdy in grip as the hands don’t seem fixed enough. By this I mean they can wiggle a bit whereas different ones I’ve had, maybe slightly shorter ones, seem firmer. I’m keeping them but next time I’d buy them from a shop so I can test it out beforehand.

The product is designed in such a way that the ends of the tongs cannot touch each other. See the picture. It makes it difficult to hold on to the food, and impossible to grab little pieces. I'm asking for a refund.

The two tongs don’t touch when you clasp them together, so there’s loads of foods they can’t successfully pick up - completely useless, returned.
