Overall, a nice lamp, works well and very bright. The only gripe I have is that the instructions weren't the best. Luckily, I found a youtube video with a link to a decent set of instructions. If the need arises, I will buy this kit again.

Easy kit to ensemble ,parts are small but not impossible.The kit makes for a nice usable lite for many applications.Fun kit to put together at a reasonable price.

It has some cool things other solder practice kits don’t have to give practical experience like ribbon cables and wires and there were plenty of extra parts. Too many in fact I was very confused by an extra IC Socket they gave me. Clean solder overall and good practice for new/intermediates.

This kit was easy to assemble. I've actually done 3 of them. The light puts out a surprisingly high amount of pure white light! It's also completely variable from very low to very bright. This kit also includes a lithium ion battery so it will run on the battery. On lower settings, it runs several hours but at full brightness, you only get about an hour and a half or so before it goes dimmer. You can run it on USB all the time as well as charge the battery via USB. It was fun to build and yielded a great little desk light that will give you Plenty of light! Just be careful to follow the directions closely especially when soldering the included cables and watch the polarity of the LEDs and caps and diodes. It's quite clear though if you read the directions first then build it. I really love this little light!

This review is for the MiOYOOW LED Desk Lamp with adjustable brightness. This was a lot of fun to put together. The included instructions do not help if you don’t read chinese. I downloaded the instructions from Amazon. Light output is excellent and it is adjustable with the potentiometer. It comes with a re-chargeable battery. The kit comes with a micro-usb re-charge cable. Re-charging took about an hour. You can use the light while it re-charges. I fully charged the battery and turned on the light full blast and it lasted a good 2 hours before it got dim.Complaints: The kit did not come with any rubber feet you may want to add some because it tends to slide on certain surfaces. I wish the charging light was easier to view. To view the charging light you have to look thru the little holes on the back of the light. I might cut a little hole on the top of the base so its viewable. My last complaint is with the battery, it sits loosely in the base so if you don’t secure it with tape or something it will rattle when you pick up the light. I used Kapton tape to secure it and it seems to be working so far,This was a lot of fun to build, its one of the better Solder Practice kits on Amazon.

Update: The led board is dead. Died in about a week of light usage. Basically showing people.This kit was farily simple to complete. It's about two to four hours depending on skill and equipment. Everything fit together great.Be sure you test the 18650 lithium battery voltage before you charge it. Anything under 2.5V you probably won't want to try and charge it. Also the battery is only 1200mAh. I feel like a slightly larger battery included would be perfect. I'd change it myself but I don't have a spot welder or nickel strips.The LEDs are nice and bright and the ability to adjust the brightness is a plus. I tested putting in some old pink LEDs and they worked rather well also. Made a great lamp for my kids.

So many part to solder.The following might help with threading the wires through the gooseneck.At first I couldn't get the wires to go through the gooseneck. I cut off a piece of a wire coat hanger and ran it back and forth through the gooseneck to make sure it was straight and there were no obstructions. Then the wires went through easily.Enjoined working on this project and enjoyed making something useful.

I really enjoyed putting this together. Awesome little functional and usable project to be used at home or in office. PERFECT project to do with your kids to teach electronics, soldering, following instructions and a lot of other things. Just get it! :)
